psnnstater77
These forecasts always get me.. Tonight: Snow showers likely, mainly after 4am. Cloudy, with a low around 18. West wind between 9 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible. 1-2", but snow won't start until morning? Paweatherguy1
These forecasts always get me.. 1-2", but snow won't start until morning? If you read the afd they are thinking les sets up after midnight. Much better to go off that than the zone forecast. Btw, I think there will be a quick burst before the dry slot. psnnstater77
Should be noted at 2:47PM Latrobe Airport was at 41 and Pittsburgh 39, still way above freezing. Dude, dry slot has moved into most areas.

psnnstater77
One good thing is with the dry slot, we could get the roads to dry a bit before snow falls.. Nobody wants ice. Snow on top of ice is deadly.

jwilson
Lots of dry air right under this Low. It has been in command for some time now. Doesn't look like we'll see any snow out of this until tomorrow, and the good Lake Effect doesn't really get down here, so I'll consider this a bust unless something really changes. Unless you get under a band, LES is this area is so hit and miss. Like the setup last week, Mountains ( I got over 8") and North of 422 (where some areas of Northen Butler and North got 8") the city doesn't bode well. I know there was a few reports of 5" in Northern Allegheny County, but this will be a shorter setup. I think last week WTAE Said Allegheny averaged under 2". We will see what happens, but this why a few of us weren't sold on some saying a few inches by Sunday evening. Warm air sticks around this area longer. The Pats/Bears game has been the snow game today. The snow has pretty much been the only reason to keep that one on today!

Just checked out the cam atop the Mercy Medical Center in Canton at their lot isn't even covered, their is blowing snow going through it. Seems like we may have to wait til things start to move NW to SE.
