A-L-E-K
lol @ my point being down to a 30% chance of storms. i'm sure it's a glitch/mistake. another nice update from gino TAIL END STORM HAS EVOLVED INTO A SUPERCELL OVER LEE COUNTY.COUPLET BRIEFLY TIGHTENED UP PROMPTING THE TORNADO WARNING FOR LEE COUNTY. WIND PROFILES INDICATE THAT THERE IS SOME WEAKNESS IN THE MID LEVEL FLOW...WHICH DESPITE FAVORABLE DEEP AND LOW LEVEL BULK SHEAR VALUES WOULD TEND TO FAVOR MORE HP-ISH SUPERCELLS AND MORE OF A BRIEF TORNADO THREAT WITH TRANSITION MORE TO OUTFLOW DOMINANT. GIVEN SOMEWHAT MARGINAL TO MODERATE MESOSCALE ENVIRONMENT FOR TORNADOES...WILL BE WATCHING FOR A MORE WELL DEVELOPED LOW-LEVEL COUPLET BEFORE RE-ISSUING ANY FURTHER TORNADO WARNINGS ON WESTERN HP SUPERCELL. FARTHER EAST A COUPLE OF BOWING LINE SEGMENTS MOVING INTO THE CHGO METRO AREA. SEEING SOME VERY IMPRESSIVE VELOCITY SIGNATURES ON THE SOUTHERN BOWING SEGMENT. OUTFLOW FROM THE NORTHERN BOWING SEGMENTS WILL END UP INTERSECTING SOUTHERN BOW AND WILL NEED TO BE CLOSELY MONITORED FOR POSSIBLE MESOVORTEX DEVELOPMENT WITH CORRESPONDING ENHANCED DAMAGING WIND/QLCS TORNADO THREAT. Stevo6899
Still have nice CAPE and shear and an impressive dew point to feed these suckers.. Yea I just went outside and it feels about as humid as it has ever felt. Would not be a good night to lose power. Rather slow movers too so flooding could be an issue also. Have an uncle that lives in big rapids and he said there was some hail and he lost power for a few mins.

Chicago Storm
Just gusted up around 50mph here. Power went out for a few minutes. Power went out for a second time a short time ago. I took a drive around town... Several small (<2") branches down, with several branches up to 6" in diameter down in scattered areas. One tree had three large 4-6" diameter branches snapped off. Parts of town are without power. There is also some minor road flooding. Picked up 1.03" of rain.
TimChgo9
Insane lightning before the storm hit, got some of it on video. Lots of echo-y thunder as well. Gusty winds.. local Weather Bug said 28mph gust, but I am not buying it. Four other WB stations within a mile or so of me recorded gusts between 43 and 47 mph, and one of those stations is due west of me by about a mile. Power dropped once, but came back up.... We're clear now,

Thundersnow12
by far one of the best lightning shows I've ever seen, got a great video of it I will post in awhile. a good amount of trees down around here but dark and haven't looked much. cyclone77
Congrats on the storms in Chicagoland guys. Sounds like it was pretty sweet. We've sort of dodged most of the severe weather this season out here in Erie. We haven't breached the 45mph barrier yet this season, which is pretty rare for this area. I'm sure we'll get hit eventually. The quarter sized hail storm we had back in the early Spring was the best storm of the year here as far as severe weather. That line in northwest Indiana/eastern Illinois still looks pretty healthy. Looks like it will hold together long enough to give LAF some nice action.
