Good stuff. Thanks for sharing. I usually have some annuals that make it into early November before biting the bullet.

I've been growing snapdragons for the past few years and I had some make it past Thanksgiving in the last few years.

Nice. Its nice to keep some color til the holiday decorations (post-Thanksgiving) go up. I try to keep my hanging pot of pansies on my mailbox alive til early December (by taking it into the garage on cold nights)

Right now I have some zinnias and begonias in the ground growing/flowers like crazy. And my roses too.

if the 0z euro verifies everyone including the city goes below freezing by monday....thats pretty dang early if that occurs.

These days, yes. There's definitely a descent heat island at PHL itself. Its not early for the burbs though.

I tend to average 3-4 <=32 degree nights in October where I am. But they are usually clear and calm

nights with good radiational cooling. It's possible this time we see our first 32 with clouds and precip?

So far, only have been to 36.1, so 'overdue'....

Yeah in the burbs it seem very late.....also compared to last year. What is the lowest temp at ur parents so far this fall?

41, from over this past weekend. Well above normal for this point in the fall... should've touched the 30s by now.

Are you talking about a frost, where frost is visible, or a freeze, where the actual air temp hits 32?

True, glad I got the yard completely mowed and de-leaved before the unsettled weather. Plenty more leaves still on the trees though.......those I'll be raking into early December.

A certain newborn little boy put a wrinkle in those plans for me ;). Looks like I'll be doing a post-storm cleanup...I agree, there are still a surprising amount of leaves left on the trees for late October. At least it seems that way...

Doh! I remember those days clearly last year getting sidetracked with diaper duty instead of yard cleanup duty. While I don't have any oak trees in my yard my one neighbor has about 4 of them and those suckers what til I'm putting up Christmas lights to fall off the trees........and end up in my yard. :)

Down to 34.6 this morning. Deck was slippery.

Looks like my bolded above happens tomorrow as we drop to freezing tomorrow evening. Rare stuff indeed.

You beat me by 0.4. Got down to 34.7 at a bit after 7:30 AM today in Spring Mount. Had to defrost the car for the first time in many months.

Yup, frost on the front windshields this morning. Should be interesting tomorrow. A drive along Rt. 29 north from Collegeville to Emmaus could be quite a contrast Saturday afternoon.

Even Zieglerville to Red Hill/Pennsburg on Rt. 29 would be a decent contrast, IMO. And that's like 10 miles.

Yup. Should be interesting. I think a solid 1-3" of snow on the backend is doable for our location. Under 1 inch or more than 4 inches would be a surprise to me at this point. (although I tend to be a bit conservative).

The big contrast IMHO will be from Red Hill to Shimerville on Rt 29. The top of the South Mountain(Shimerville) to Hereford can go from 1" to 6" in that short of a drive. I have seen this many times. Macungie will be on the heavier side.
