snowNH
The 18z NAM is showing some impressive rain totals for monday night into tuesday. Could this be of the severe kind? Post thoughts and obs.

eekuasepinniW
LCI is at .15" for the month so some rain would be delightful. Ideally it'll come in an 8"/hr downpour.

tamarack
Looks like MBY got a shower 3-4 PM, but it appears that the really solid chunk of precip passes well south - maybe central NH and the York/Cumberland Cty folks get something good.

The 18z was nuts with a few things. Wasn't as dry aloft, had much more directional shear in place and had much more instability. BDL hodo is pretty nice looking. yoda
5 hail/0 tor/15 wind... Wiz will have to head to NW MA for best shot ..NERN STATES AN UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH IS FORECAST TO MOVE INTO THE NERN STATES TODAY AS A WELL-DEFINED MID-LEVEL JET IN THE BASE OF THE TROUGH MOVES ACROSS THE REGION. MODEL FORECASTS ACROSS CNTRL NY AND WRN NEW ENGLAND DEVELOP A POCKET OF MODERATE INSTABILITY AROUND MIDDAY WHERE THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD INITIATE EARLY THIS AFTERNOON. FORECAST SOUNDINGS ACROSS THE SLIGHT RISK AREA AT 21Z SHOW MUCAPE VALUES AROUND 1000 J/KG WITH 50 KT OF DEEP LAYER SHEAR AND UNIDIRECTIONAL WIND PROFILES. THIS ALONG WITH STRONG FORCING ASSOCIATED WITH THE UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH SHOULD BE SUFFICIENT FOR A WIND DAMAGE THREAT AS A LINE OF STORMS DEVELOPS AND MOVES QUICKLY EWD INTO MAINE AND SRN NEW ENGLAND LATE THIS AFTERNOON. http://kamala.cod.edu/SPC/day1.gif
snowNH
That's awesome Yoda.. should see a nice line form today, some hodographs have unidirectional gusts to 60kts which is good This could be like that line of storms a month ago where we see strong winds at the onset then some good lightning
HoarfrostHubb
I just want to see hail again... I should take down my EZ-Up in case there is any wind...

free_man
Is this our day BIrving? There will probably be a line split of some kind and, as usual, we are the goalposts. I'm okay with that as long as other areas get a decent storm or two.
HoarfrostHubb
Storms are lining up in central NY state and VT S NH might be in line for some decent events
Tropopause_Fold
it's too bad mid-level lapse rates are so meager because we'd probably be looking at a pretty widespread deal. despite only 5 to 6c/km things are popping well.

free_man
main show will be W MA/CT/NYS, which is sensible. Hoping it rains here, nevermind a thundestorm. Even a general rainfall looks iffy at this point. Line towards CA/US border will never make it here, so it's either this goalpost split setup or nothing. At least imo. Watch, a devestating line will plow through here with 80mph gusts now.
