cyclone77
Storms over northwest Illinois are pretty much elevated now, so severe threat looks over. Very heavy rain with the high PWATs others have mentioned is the main threat now. Backbuilding has been very impressive this evening.
A-L-E-K
on far southern edge of warning, so i might get clipped twice. edit: actually about 5 miles south. PWATS now up to the modeled 2.5"

wisconsinwx
Has been raining and thundering now for about two hours. I think we picked up another half inch to inch, so I'll guesstimate two inches for the day. Pretty decent considering we weren't in the main heavy band. wisconsinwx
Per the GFS, this week's rain is far from over, particularly in far S Wisconsin. I'm not sure about the severe threat for tomorrow, but I believe the warm front will still be hanging around the WI/IL border area or just north of that. cyclone77
The backbuilding storms have been slowly settling south the last few hours here in northwest Illinois. Don't think we'll see all that much here though, as the storms are small and elevated now over this area. Far NW Illinois continues to get pummeled though. cyclone77
Somewhere near the Dubuque area will likely end up topping a foot of rain. Radar already estimates over 8" in that area. Elevated storms continue to fire and backbuild over areas that were previously dumped on.
hawkeye_wx
Going to be some major flooding in the tri-state region. Dubuque through the county just east already had 4-6 inches of rain before the new stuff blew up.

BeastFromTheEast
New Meso Discussion.. http://www.spc.noaa..../md/md1770.html THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 694 CONTINUES. ALTHOUGH A FEW ISOLATED STRONGER WIND GUSTS REMAIN POSSIBLE THROUGH ABOUT 06-08Z...OVERALL SEVERE WEATHER THREAT HAS DIMINISHED AND WW 694 WILL BE ALLOWED TO EXPIRE AT 06Z. RESIDUAL MODERATE INSTABILITY AND EFFECTIVE BULK SHEAR UP TO 40-45 KT SUGGEST THE MORE SUSTAINED STORMS WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE SOME SEVERE POTENTIAL. OF GREATER CONCERN...HEAVY RAINFALL RATES ARE EXPECTED TO PERSIST THROUGH THE NIGHT FROM EAST CENTRAL IA /BUCHANAN TO DUBUQUE COUNTIES/...AND EWD ALONG AND GENERALLY A ROW OF COUNTIES EITHER SIDE OF THE WI/IL BORDER. REGIONAL RADAR IMAGERY SHOWED STORMS ALREADY TRAINING EWD ACROSS MUCH OF THESE AREAS WITH THE LEADING ACTIVITY MOVING TOWARD ROCK COUNTY WI/BOONE COUNTY IL. SURFACE ANALYSES INDICATED THIS ACTIVITY WAS LOCATED WELL NORTH /20-40 MILES/ OF AN ATTENDANT MCS OUTFLOW BOUNDARY WHICH EXTENDED WNWWD FROM NRN IL TO ERN IA. AIR MASS ACROSS ERN IA TO NRN IL/SRN WI REMAINS VERY MOIST /2+ INCH PRECIPITABLE WATER/ WITH LOW LEVEL SWLY FLOW MAINTAINING MOISTURE TRANSPORTATION AND WAA INTO THIS REGION. CORFIDI PROPAGATION VECTORS ARE TOWARD THE S AT 5-15 KT WHICH WILL TEND TO SUPPORT NEW STORM DEVELOPMENT ALONG THE SRN/SWRN FLANK.
