WeatherGuide
Well Reading's has been tied and is likely to fall. 105 at 3pm. That ties the all time record here set back in August 1918. Unreal. And to think we'll likely hit 100 again for the third day in a row Saturday if the storms hold off until the evening...

I wouldn't be surprised if we stick above 100 for another 2-3 hours yet. Tonight is going to be a scorcher...

PAPPG
105 record for my station(almost half way to boiling water!) Also record HI of 121. The HI values are significant here, as you can have a high temp but very low DP's and it feels much different than this soup.
Yes_Probably_Maybe_No
While we're at it, how does July altogether stack up against the hottest? I'm thinking with another 100 degree day tomorrow it could be interesting.

iceman56
Phoenixville (who has the record) is in E PA. I've always been skeptical about that state record. It was set on July 9th and 10th in 1936. Philadelphia on those days was only 103 and 104 respectively. Can't recall ever seeing the suburbs 7 or 8 degrees higher than the city.

Food for thought...and I don't disagree with you BTW...here are temps around the region on 7/9-10 Reading -- 101 and 102 Allentown -- 103 both days Wilmington -- 100 and 103 Trenton -- 106 and 104 Hammonton -- 102 and 103 West Chester -- 103 and 105 If Reading, West Chester, etc. were 106, 107 on either day I could buy the 111 in Phoenixville more easily but nothing locally supports it. Philly tied their warmest low, with 83. Philly's record only went back to July 24, 2010, when it also only went down to 83. Was that the only other time, or has the record high minimum of 83 happened other times in the past?
Bliz299
Here in Cape May it hit 102° Friday and Saturday. Previous all-time(123 years) was 100°. (106° in 1966 is published as the all-time record but that reading is bogus and was supposed to have been removed.)
