Has anyone started the August thread? Another 6 weeks of normal summer-like weather and then things will begin to shift again... Anyway, I've been very fortunate in regards to rainfall, having the mountains initiate convection does wonders... LithiaWx Posted August 1, 2011 Author Share Posted August 1, 2011 Well, just 3 hours to go until my birthday is in the books and over....and no rain yet.....looks like this will be a year that falls into the 20-25% of those that I DID NOT see rain on my bday.....We had a nice little outflow boundary yesterday afternoon that I was sure would set up some convection for today...but alas...not a drop yet. burkecountync Posted August 1, 2011 Share Posted August 1, 2011 Update on damage on Miller Bridge Road. My friend just got home and said that there is debris everywhere and they have a tree down. He said that transformer just blew about 20 minutes ago. Its unusual to get storms this bad in Burke County; however, we was not spared this time. Gastonwxman Posted August 1, 2011 Share Posted August 1, 2011 1.26" for the total here thanks to that tremendous downpour that occurred on the 4th of July (thankfully it ended before the firework show started). Other than that, the rain from last night helped some but the rest of the events this month made up very little of my total since they consisted of brief showers.
