The older you get the faster time goes. I ready for cold. I'm sick of the warmth. I really don't know how anyone could live in the south where the norm is 90+ and humid. Purgatory.

Around 90 days until our first realistic chances for frost maybe a touch less. I am guessing 30 for you?:P

Maybe less if we're lucky. Earliest date for temp threshold reached boldened. We've reached 28.5 degrees as early as 8/22 and 24.5 as early as 8/30. Like sands through the hour glas so are the days of this summer.lol

I think the nw downsloping wind really heats the coastal plain up while leaving gods country hot but not sizzling, that area has been the one exception besides the islands and cape that has not had an all out torchathon.

The numbers dont lie, and neither does the electric bill.

But reality is, you are not supposed to torch like the rest of us, elevation has its advantages.

Well, I try to compare my area to ORH since it is nearby with a similar el.

Last July was +3.9, this month so far +4.0

One dif. is that last July the big heat was at the start of the month and it was cooler towards the end. This month we had a small blip at the beginning and then the last wave, with overall numbers being a bit above.

Even the heat "wave" here was only 2 days... we only got to 85 or something yesterday

I know this July has been warmer based on departure, but it has not felt bad other than the 3 days (well, 2 really)

I guess everyone just has a different view which is totally normal. In my opinion, we roast towards August, and August itself looks hot, I guess we shall see.

The torch was absolutely relentless in Baltimore. We put up impressive numbers here too. 96F tied last year's torch for the highest temp at ORH since 1975. But nothing like the 106F experienced at BWI, that was brutal.

That's just awful. Those poor people. Add to it snowless Winters and that's hell on earth.

Ahh got you. Maybe 10 miles from my cottage between Saugerties and Catskill. I went to Columbia Greene Community College way back around 1984-86 and used to drive past there every day. BTW, that is the most bizarre traffic configuration at the east side of the RVW Bridge. All they really need is a roundabout....

I was at my friend's farm right near Olana. It was 90. When I left it was 88 , felt nice to get home to 72.

It was brutal man, we drove between the Hampton and Marriott every time even though it's like a 5-minute walk, just way too hot. Well worth it for an amazing conference but that was some intense heat. We went to the Inner Harbor yesterday to walk around, and it was scorching down there, easily over 100F.

Was that the warmest you ever experienced?

It was about the warmest for me. It was 104F when I went to the Dead Sea in Israel.

No, I've been in 110F in Texas and probably about 117-118F in Arizona before. But that was probably the hottest heat/humidity combo I experienced.

104.9 on my weather station Friday and 101.7 on Saturday! Peak Heat Index was 132, 2 miles from the Ocean lol. Maybe more triple digits here later next week?

I spent the day at inner harbor, nice spot but brutal heat, life sucking on the water.

I was down there for work in late June 2007 and I also walked around the Inner Harbor @ 98F. I thought that was unbelievable so I can't even imagine the temps you were in.
