Tropopause_Fold
if you believe MOS tomorrow is really not a whole lot cooler than today in the "feels like" respect. temps do run several degrees lower but there's a definite increase in low level moisture as we don't mix out the BL nearly as much. MAV is 101 at BDL too. LOL.
Tropopause_Fold
BDL is 101 yeah that's sick. i don't know if i buy that completely...but the euro does basically hold 850s around 22/23C through the entire day (over E areas - cools to like 21/22C over western areas). Tropopause_Fold
18z MAV even has 100F @ MHT and 101F @ ASH up here. watch - it's been too cool by like 5 to 8 degrees the last two days....tomorrow it'll be too warm by the same amount. day late dollar short. MET has handled this pretty well so not sure how much to trust the mav numbers. regardless, i know today is getting lots of attention (and rightfully so) but it's not as though tomorrow is a great summer day with cool temps and low humidity. it's going to be pretty brutal. HarveyLeonardFan
Are the lower dews gonna reach all the way down here this evening?? This sucks. The water was great, but cooler than expected...I'd day it was 69. The kitchen and bathroom floors are still soaking wet. I can never remember 12 plus hours of dew points 77 or above, let alone 81. ski MRG
You're right: record setting heat is "no big deal" long-standing climatological records be damned. As far as the back of the heat being broken, we've got roughly a month and a half left of summer and models point to more heat next week. I was speaking to the PF about our elevated regions. I couldn't care any less about the hellish I-95 corridor. Those areas matter little to me. I note their triple digit heat with the same indifference that I note their inevitable changeover to rain in the Winter.

weatherMA
88.8F here attm Meh day imby lol the 16" storm was a "meh storm" today, with stations breaking all time heat its a "meh day" What would consist of interesting weather for you? LOL you might report the correct temp, but no matter what you'll claim it was nice in your area. If it gets to 110F at BDL and "only" 101F in the glen of West Chesterfield, you will claim you are thankful you don't live at the BDL tarmac. You probably broke an all time temp record at your house, or close to it. Obviously, you know this; but if its record heat in the valley, it is in the hills too most likely. In the winter, the record cold happens in the valley too now just your house. It works the same way with heat. So yes, it wasn't just the I95 corridor with the heat, it was everywhere on the east coast.

weathafella
73.4F here... I'm sorry Jerry. What wil the low be for the day? Nothing to be sorry about...I'm only sad it's not hotter. Of course, a/c is imperative but I use it all summer and go out and fry selectively. 103/81 for 7/22. Probably will be 97/77 7/23, then much cooler. Heat on this level won't occur again this summer though the hot theme imho will continue. Do we add 1975-76 into the analog mix for winter? Logan11
It's still better to be in the hills well west of the coastal plain ....I prefer my high temps this week from Sun through Fri -> 85 79 80 86 93 88 ....It was way too hot and yesterday was the hottest I have recorded here since 2004, but it beats 100+. 66 now. lol the 16" storm was a "meh storm" today, with stations breaking all time heat its a "meh day" What would consist of interesting weather for you? moneypitmike
Pretty good light show since 4:30a.m. The first cell past two my south. In the southern end of the next one--heaviest lightning looks to be in VT. A good show, but thunder's not too loud. Meanwhile, rain to save me from having to water this morning and a nice breeze ftw. Nice stike/clap right outside.
mahk_webstah
That area of showers is moving in here. Man does it feel good! I was debating myself about watering this morning, mother nature has solved it. Why you up so early on a Sunday? My excuse is a new puppy who demands to go out at 5. Apparently you're up to early, Mark. It's Saturday. lol I'm an early riser--usually up at 5:00. Gives me a little time before the others arise and the demands of the day take hold. Enjoy the reprieve from watering! What kind of dog did you get? I'd like to get a malamute.

The truly putrid heat remained in the valley and along the I-95 corridor. I can operate easily in a wide range of conditions, hot or cold. I just prefer the cold. All this yammering on and on about the death heat. Meh, a few hot days. It's about as interesting as watching paint dry. It's always nicer here BTW. MaineJayhawk
Passed an evening with a drink and a friend last night on a patio on Monument Square in Portland. An outdoor thermometer read 103F when we sat down (it runs high, clearly). Needless to say, the libations got warm pretty quick. Seems to be an area of much-needed showers passing through. 73/64 at PWM.
