Absolutely beautiful heat up here today... crystal clear air, dew points were 20-30F lower than they were yesterday.

At 5pm, the Morrisville-Stowe (KMVL) ASOS was reading 91/50 for a RH of 25%!! I actually am enjoying today with a stiff breeze and very dry air. Visibility is crystal clear, too. No haze at all.

Rutland, VT (KRUT) was 91/45 for a RH of 20%!! Now that's impressive for the east.

Talk about some dry air, this feels like Arizona dry heat with breezy conditions.

According to my DP2, the RH dropped to 29% just before 2:00p.m. The current 38% is hardlly unbearable. :)

Yeah that's some good stuff... getting below 30% RH makes 85-95F feel not that bad. I actually couldn't believe it got up into the lower 90s today because it just didn't feel like it was that hot. Dry air and stiff breeze keeps you nice and cool outside. Perfect for outdoor activities when yesterday I wanted to slit my throat, lol. I just can't believe we had 77F dew point yesterday afternoon and this afternoon it was 50F.

When I saw MET last night, I figured we'd have our hottest day in 35 years. Wrong. It is 85 years. If I have to wait another 36 for this, I will be an even 100. Impressive heat.....the only disappointment was the lack of the all time record of 105 but I'd wager it may have happened wherever they were measuring 100 years ago...it certainly wasn't East Boston though that's as hot as the next place. I was giving a talk in front of many but used my phone power monitoring hourly obs. Impressive heat.......and certainly the hottest day this year will produce....and 105 degree spread from low to high for the year. Fabulous!

Good luck the way things are these days you'll probably make it to be a centenarian. I'd be chilling at a cool 72 if things go well.

114(rounded up) degree spread for me. Its been extreme at both ends this year.

93 degrees in CON at latest observation, 96 in MHT. Meanwhile here on the outskirts of the megalopolis that is known as Bow-nowhere to chase NH I've cooled down to an astonishing 88 beautiful degrees. Best summer ever continues to roll alongsun.gif

79/61, slowly smoldering down into the 70's. Quite comfortable on the porch with a breeze.

76/60... beautiful evening. With dews getting as low as the upper 40s and lower 50s during the afternoon, I'd imagine we get down into the 50s here in the mtn valleys tonight as long as we can keep the skies clear.

Huntington, VT (west slope) at 850ft is dropping like a rock... down to 69F there.

It's funny how there has been so much squawking about the terror of a torch when in reality it's a few hot days with little or no impact. The back of the heat is already broken.

Haha, yeah... but to be fair yesterday was atrocious. We don't see heat like this very often, even if it is only for a couple of days.

I worked out in the sun all day. Lots of water and it simply wasn't that bad. Hot to be sure but what's the big deal? All this "face melting heat" hype comes from people that spend all their time in a/c.

You're right. Boston gets to a 'cool' 96-97F tomorrow. West Chesterfield 69F

Man, Beantown must suck in this weather. How are you liking Italy? One of my favorite places to visit.

You're right: record setting heat is "no big deal" long-standing climatological records be damned. As far as the back of the heat being broken, we've got roughly a month and a half left of summer and models point to more heat next week.

Woke up this morning in Baraboo, Wi right before the northern edge of an mcs rolled through. Got a nice picture of the sun rise through the clouds. Then we traveled to Interior, South Dakota. Watched this storm develop the last few hours of the trip and got a great picture of it going through the Bad Lands. It's incredible out here.

Enjoy the heat!
