Heat Wave Observations

If 79 is the daily minimum at BDL I believe that is the warmest overnight low since the obs were taken at the airport and not downtown Hartford. I'll have to look at the specifics when I get to work later.

Check out the night of August 9 into the 10th, 2001 for warmest overnight low. I remember havinf a low of 78 or 79 over here that night, it won't show up in the daily records cause a front came through during the afternoon of the 10th.

Good call... you're right... the 12z 6-hour min was 79F/26.1C identical to this mornings.

It's lost in the dailys because the actual low was at 23z.

that's ridiculous. the same type of thing was showing up out over the plains/mw/ov over the last few days.

Feels drier here than it did last night. Dry air slowly creeping in.

Lots of HI around 103-105 at 10AM. Neat

Under trees and near a lawn it might be... Lots of evapotranspiration today

That's the case. Can't anything about the trees or lawn though, so I just take a degree or two off the reading. Most obs around here are 78-79 atm, so.....

edit: now the reading is down to 76 from 80...whew, what a relief!
