Couple sprinkles here, anything of substance stayed west (thankfully) still have not seen any ground truth out of se ny of anything severe, nothing out of the lower hudson valley thread, just run of the mill stuff, lets hope that was the case.

AT 629 PM EDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED TO INDICATE A

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WITH STRONG ROTATION. THIS TORNADO WAS LOCATED

NEAR WHITE PLAINS...MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 30 MPH. THE STORM HAS CAUSED

EXTENSIVE DAMAGE IN CENTRAL WESTCHESTER COUNTY WITH NUMEROUS TREES

AND WIRES DOWN.

Can I buy it off of you for my school apartment?

No. I'm going to watch the Bills kick the Pats and Jets azzes on it this season.

If only you didn't have to climb a telephone pole to change the channel.

Hopefully you are somewhere exceedingly hot and the a/c in the truck is broken. Death valley would be nice.

My step daughters new BF is a Bills fan, other than that he is a good guy.

Power outages in Greenwich just spiked up in the last half hour - CL&P reports about 2400 customers without power in Greenwich, about 8% of customers in that town.

Not too many outages in Stamford, though.

Wasn't that bad here - the whole thing lasted about 15-20 minutes, and I never saw anything that looked like a funnel cloud or even hail and I'm pretty much right on top of the state line. I'd imagine most power outages are in back country where there are lots of trees to fall on power lines. Happens even after a strong fropa in the winter. Power never even flickered here, though that's probably attributed to underground utilities more than anything. They're proactive here during storms. Cops will open man holes to allow the water to drain faster (saw one with a captain's tool closing one on Route 1 on the way home after the rain was done) and the highway department is pretty quick in removing downed branches.

Ginx severe for me fail? What was the top wind gust, did it meet severe criteria?

But it did not happen in snow mans backyard, typical fropa in winter?

Didn't say typical fropa, but power outages do occur frequently in the winter with strong fropas around here. North of Route 1 is solid trees so winds of 40 mph will bring down enough limbs to knock power out to a good chunk of back country. Like I said, I drove through the height of the storm (got a nice free car wash), and I've definitely seen worse - just a few weeks ago as a matter of fact. No hail, no FC. Just a lot of rain and wind that I would guess briefly met severe criteria. Route 1 wasn't even flooded that's how fast this thing moved in and out of town.
