Do you know if they surveyed Willimantic, CT at all?

I did, probably 250 yards wide mile long most trees fallen facing NE, which was odd as the storm was heading SE. Saw some sheared tops as well, one very large tree was quartered and covered a house. Saw some tree also facing west, seemed weird that a microburst would have such a tight core with no litter on the ground directly outside it. IDK but seemed odd.

Well, here it resulted in the only 2 90 degree days we're likely to see in 2011. Maybe we'll get 1 more rogue hot day but it's going to get tougher and tougher. I'm ready for autumn.

The back of summer has been broken. As many stated, I will be surprised to not see a mild comeback during the latter part of August but no more extreme heat this year....the rubber band snapped.

Plenty of heat, humidity and summer to go..Still a full 2 months left of warmth and summer

Going to be fairly active pattern for strong to severe storm chances over the next few weeks...August should be good...especially with more deep troughs starting to come into the west coast and go through the country.

6z GFS has an some Friday afternoon tornado potential in western SNE and NY.

It really wouldn't surprise me if we had some tornado potential...something similar to Wednesday with a great deal of vertical/bulk shear values...this should at least increase 0-3km helicity values...0-1km values will ultimately depend on the wind direction within the lowest km of the atmosphere.

High temps forecast by upton for sun-mon................as expected the heat is coming and I expect those numbers to rise a couple degrees, August looks above normal and humid, summer lives on.........

I have a feeling we're gonna have quite a bit of clouds around tomorrow. Those MCS's to our west might screw us

Yeah agreed. Models are a bit more impressive with the instability now than they were but they still keep the best stuff west of us.

We'll see I'm not too excited now for severe but there is potential.
