Baroclinic Zone
The areal coverage of the blizzard warnings out west is amazing. Looks like it would cover all of New England.

CCPSUSuperstorm2010
What will the wind speeds be like for SE MA/RI? With an intense 70-80 knot low level jet and 925mb winds around 70 knots around Monday morning forecasted by the NAM and the GFS a little too progressive bringing the front through about 12 hours earlier, and the NAM forecasting a temperature inversion around 910-890mbs and with a fine line of convection developing, we could see damaging wind gusts across the South Coast of New England and coastal waters to the south. So how high could the winds get?
HIPPYVALLEY
Pond skating season has begun. My neighbor and his kid "testing" the ice. Actually it's 4"+ of black ice so no worries. Nice day out there and the snow didn't mess up the ice.
ski MRG
Went for the first x-country ski near the river a little while ago. Not quite as much snow as it's in a valley (900-1000') but still enough to kick and glide. Pretty early Winter day.
HIPPYVALLEY
Well Pete, at least in "God's country" we have some winter entertainment despite the cries of where's winter. Hippie trying to find his skating legs.
ski MRG
Hey Chris, I'd like to have more snow on the ground and I can't wait for the first really heavy snow to be falling but it hasn't been bad for so early in the season.Winter sports are up and going, ice fishing, skiing, skating. Fortunately, even the worst of Winters here provide enough snow and cold for these endeavors. Maybe this will be a disaster Winter, They do happen. However, I don't get that vibe at all. I try to be empathetic to all the folks that haven't seen snow and thus are mourning the loss of Winter prematurely. I can't relate though. I see no reason to think this will be a terrible Winter. I've already worked several days with snow falling start to finish. We've already been below zero. I had to wait for 15 snowmobiles to cross the road in front of me this AM. Seems like typical early Winter to me.

Mr Torchey
I am a bit suprised at how the cold air seems to be dragging its feet, 36 and still rain at state college, I though this front would have had a sharper temp drop behind it, although modeling did back down from the flash freeze ideas lately
