Ginx snewx
Wind is howling out there... gusting in the upper 30s in Gardner. Brutal night for man and beast. Midwinter, just totally brutal in VT! WMA elevations tonight yet our downers concentrate on rain six days from now. I do not get it. It snowed pretty nicely for a while today, several spots in my state saw inch plus accumulations despite the Downers insistence last week no one in CT would see an inch. Good times. It snowed pretty nicely for a while today, several spots in my state saw inch plus accumulations despite the Downers insistence last week no one in CT would see an inch. Good times. I insisted that the "majority of SNE" would not see at first 3"-6" then 1"-3" with a spot 4" amount and that pretty much held up. With the exception of a handfull of towns around Waterbury most places didn't even measure.

(and i know kev said thru mon am) but you would have made the same bet ...should he have said tues am.
HoarfrostHubb
Well, I still think that both Friday and Sunday will have at least some and probably mostly frozen up this way. Maybe nothing big, but I'll take it. Good prelude into the teeth of December. CT really jackpotted today. Are you guys doing the live Tower station? Get a cam up there. Make it drivable! Yeah, in the honest spirit of Kevin's prediction...it was a bust. 90% of the region hasn't seen anything except flurries. We knew Litchfield county and the Berkshires would see some upslope/LES enhancement, but nobody east of their saw it except that narrow zone extending through Waterbury and ESE. I've seen off and on stray flakes all day, but no accumulation..but that wasn't a surprise, we thought flurries and occasional snow showers would be around. cpickett79
dave you should start a thread for us guessing the average high temps on thursday. thickness values are 510 or less for most of the area. I'm thinking colder than currently progged but who knows. ORH BDL PVD BOS 20 25 26 24 are my guesses
cpickett79
obs and banter i HOPE that bellicheck gives Danny woodhead a shot down by the goalline . after that 50 yard run where he showed his blazing speed. he needs to stuff it down rex ryan and the jets throats for cutting him and not giving him a shot

ski MRG
How much at your pad? 2-3" though it's hard to tell because the wind even down in the sheltered Glen here has been ferocious and continues unabated. Here's my road around 4pm yesterday. The nice feature has been it's snowed lightly for 48hrs now. I'm anxious to get to 2k though perhaps not looking forward to another 8hrs in the roaring wind. Yesterday it was deafening and I have lost my voice from yelling.

Logan11
Another 2.5 to 3 inches here overnight. It fluctuates between steady light snow and moderate+ with the band bowing slightly north and south, but not much overall movement. 20F out there. It looks like this band is pretty much aiming for the Berkshires. 21/13, -sn, clouds and snowshowers kept temps steady overnight.
moneypitmike
A lovely 21.2F here...still 22.5/13, flakes, windy (8' gusts up to 29mph). Is this three days now we've been in the 20's? Might be 4--I forget how Saturday was. I think I can be a bit more daring with testing out the pond than yesterday when I merely stood for a few moments before bailing. moneypitmike
I'd wait a few more days. Plenty of winter left. I'm not putting my life at risk. lol To be sure, my confidence will grow as the days go along. But, it's been iced for quite a while. In fact, the ice is also forming in the exiting streams. When i see it in the areas of running water, I take it as a good sign.
ski MRG
19* @2k with steady accumulating snow. 7-8" on the ground. Pics tonight. Btw. The wind up here is absolutely ferocious. I would geuss that windchill values must be zero or colder. I love working in these hostile conditions. It builds character.lol
