HoarfrostHubb
Brady wins all snow games. Pete, you did great by the looks of the pics. Was that all just today. Wachusett adding trails now, should help ease the knucklehead factor a little. The ambiance snow is a plus out this way... ski MRG
There's a nice batch of lgt-mdt snow coming down right towards Foxboro. Hopefully it holds together. As I predicted last week. powderfreak
Scott, was thinking of paying you a visit Wednesday but only see intermediate terrain. Anything good about to come online? Probably not officially. People are slowly starting to poach or skin off to further lands... but its still pretty bony dude. This stuff may accumulate nicely but it is pure fluff. Ratios are ridiculous so there's not a lot of substance except in wind packed areas. Ratios are how we capitalize in these upslope events with low QPF, but the downside is it doesn't do a ton for building a base. Its excellent stuff once you have a base... but we'd need something really freaky to happen overnight and tomorrow for any of the steep (ie rocky) terrain to open. Yeah, fortunately I have a quiver of rock skis but dust on ledge is never that great. That is except for the cool sparks you can get.lol We'll see what happens. Regardless I'll be somewhere Wednesday. Whiteface FTW?
wxmanmitch
4.5 inches now in Lenox, MA. It's a beautiful, dry, dendritic snow that blows a lot in the wind. Measurement was taken in a sheltered location near the house. Upslope has been going strong all day with visibilities dropping to around 1/2 mile at times, although the average visibility has probably been around a mile. Could easily see warning criteria here if this continues overnight and into tomorrow.

I dunno about that much, but I'm sure some spots are near 6"+. But who knows, not a lot of reports come out of 2000 plus on the west side of the spine. It looked like MRG's work area (wherever that is) at 2k had 2 or 3" earlier, but I'm not sure if its exact location WRT spine. Maybe he could chime in. No, I don't think it will slow for a while. The combined effects of the LE moisture and some moisture wrapping around from the retrograding low are enough to keep this thing going. Quite rare to have an upslope event of this duration around here. Normally they don't last more than a few hours. It was snowing much of the day yesterday (only a half inch accumulated), last night, and all day today. 18Z NAM simulated reflectivity doesn't have this thing dying until 00Z Wednesday and many times these events are not adequately represented by the models. Also quite rare to have back-to-back retrograding systems... definitely an odd set-up that is providing some early winter entertainment. I bet the 2,000ft+ elevations of Woodford, VT (in Bennington County) are getting crushed with this.

Measured 11 inches at 2300' meanwhile Bennington only had 1.5" just 5 miles west. It's part of the main spine and definitely cleans up with upslope events. When I left around 4pm there was about 5" down. I'm expecting around 8-10" by morning. The -sn hasn't stopped here at my house since yesterday but it's pixie dust with an occasional heavier burst probably around 3" but it's being blown around by a fierce, unrelenting wind. All of this is great and it sets a great mood for X-mas season but my cousins in Depew,NY have us beat by a mile, now over 50".lol
