kevlon62
Called in a rotating wall cloud with a funnel west of Lena north of Sunnyside Rd. and Rt. 20 intersection. Had intense vertical motion, and a clear funnel drop down for a bit. Amazing inflow and vivid lightning now. We moved out and are now southeast of Lena. Thundersnow12
the instability gradients turns a tad more southeast once you get passed I-39, storms will fight to follow that/better thetae air or the easterly mean wind.
L.B. LaForce
Confirmed tornado 6 NW of Galena, occurred before these two storms really flared up actually. Little signature to go off of there. I saw that. I have it on video, but I cant tell if it's on the ground. A hill was blocking it-imagine that....

A-L-E-K
looking pretty nasty out there, new d1 takes the tor threat right into chicago, going to have to watch how much this line sags south.
OceanStWx
I saw that. I have it on video, but I cant tell if it's on the ground. A hill was blocking it-imagine that.... I know the area well, one of the few places in the DVN CWA where that comes into play. Also the latest SVS says at "802 PM trained spotters reported..." I wonder if that was just when it was generated or whether it is a separate report from the 7:55 public one.
OceanStWx
Additional public report 4 WNW of Lena at 7:55 now.
Indystorm
Glad to have you chiming in this evening OceanStWx with your previous service at DVN. I must admit earlier today I thought heavy rain was going to be the predominant threat up until just a little earlier this evening when I began to get suspicious of those svr parameters. OceanStWx
Funnel cloud reported in Bernard per LEO. The cell looks to be riding the outflow of the previous ones, dangerous combination.
tornadotony
You know, a TOR on that storm would be nice right about now...
Chicago Storm
I just got off work, so I missed a potential chase to the northwest with the tornadic activity. We'll see if a damaging wind threat starts to evolve for areas farther southeast...
OceanStWx
I would even watch out for this kind of crap south of Delhi. Considering the instability and boundary in place it won't take much to spin something up as cells cross or parallel it.

A-L-E-K
A nice cold pool developing now too with the original cells, Gino trying to get ahead of that development with the SVR. looks like a pretty safe call, anticipating the light show later. LOT meso update LINE OF STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUES TO MOVE EASTWARDTOWARDS WINNEBAGO COUNTY ALONG STATIONARY FRONTAL BOUNDARY/INSTABILITY GRADIENT. LOW LEVEL SHEAR AND ABUNDANT 0 TO 3 KM CAPE WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT LOW LEVEL ROTATION WITH ISOLATED TORNADO DEVELOPMENT STILL POSSIBLE FOR AT LEAST A SHORT TIME BUT LATEST MESOANALYSIS INDICATES THAT INHIBITION IS STARTING TO BUILD. LAST SEVERAL RADAR SCANS INDICATE THAT MOVEMENT HAS STARTED TO ADJUST TO THE SOUTHEAST IN CONJUNCTION WITH ARC OF THE INSTABILITY GRADIENT. ALSO APPEARS THAT THE EAST-WEST ORIENTATION WILL START TO BOW SOUTHESTWARD INCREASING THE DAMAGING WIND THREAT. EXTREME RAINFALL RATES OF 2 TO 3 INCHES PER HOUR ARE LIKELY IN GENERAL BUT A GOOD PORTION OF THAT WILL PROBABLY FALL IN LESS THAN THAT. PONDING OF WATER ON ROADWAYS AND IN LOW SPOTS WILL RAPIDLY OCCUR WITH SIGNIFICANT FLASH FLOODING POSSIBLY QUICKLY FOLLOWING SUIT. VISIBILITY TO NEAR ZERO MAY ALSO RESULT ALONG WITH CONTINUOUS LIGHTNING.
OceanStWx
looks like a pretty safe call, anticipating the light show later. Still a nice low level meso southeast of Freeport though.

OceanStWx
60 mph winds at the WREX studios north of Winnebago, look out Rockford. Edit: And Gino bumps things to 80 mph in the SVS. With 75+ kts starting to show up in the mid levels that may verify. Edit: Edit: Now 80 at WREX.
