If anyone was curious, we did indeed hit 6000 meters at 500 hpa. Tabular data from the KOAX sounding.

That is amazing.

The Ruc has it and it also is coming in hot.

has KSTL getting upwards of 98F and heat index of 113-115F.

If that is anywhere close.

then some amazingly hot days are coming if the euro is right and the 26c 850s stream in by Tuesday night into Wedneday.

If this verifies I expect 120F Heat index reading here with 105F highs.

DTW ended up at 76 a couple of times over night.

Walked out of my garage at 4 am as I was leaving for work and it was a sauna. Ridiculous how warm it felt. Don't know how the folks in okc deal with this. Think they have had around 26 days of triple digit heat so far this summer.

sexy trough in fantasy land euro.. the euro has proved to be more useless probably than the gfs in mid and long range so w/e

I am clinging to that fantasy-land trough like a drowning man clings to a rope.

I stepped outside today, wanted to finish pinstriping the new ride, but it was too hot and humid. So, now I have to put up with 2/3 of a pinstriping job until I can get a break to finish it. Spent the day at the pool with the g/f and kiddies, and got burned in the process... at least the water was cool. Probably going back today, simply because it beats sitting around the house, and feeling ill all day.

Listening to the scanner, and there are several calls for blow transformers, and downed lines in neighboring towns. Since last Monday's power outage, ComEd has been struggling to keep the lines up around here. they were popping transformers in a few places in town even yesterday. A massive power outage is everyone's worry around here. We are hoping our grid holds steady, but on Sat night, everything north of the tracks and west of the grade school down the street was out for about 3 hours. Also, listening to the scanner, there is at least one heat related DOA out there....

Everyone take it easy today.

Yeah no joke, I came home an hour ago, and it was 87 inside my house. The lack of central air is really annoying.

Ouch, sorry man :( That's what it gets like in here with no air on and I'm sweating waterfalls in that.

Little window unit for your room would only cost a few bucks to run.

Pool sounds great but watch your skin today.. can get fried again even if its cloudy.. Goood luck down there with the power situation.. sounds like my worst nightmare weather wise and I feel terrible for all those with outages..

Hoping we get a serious break towards the end of the month and it wouldn't surprise me if august comes in a pretty pleasant month overall,

How ironic...

LOT finally pulls the trigger on a CWA wide head advisory and we're going to be stuck in convective debris.

lol head advisory.. I know what you got last night

when do you think this crap moves out up here? Am I pretty much in the clear going forward.. nothing to worry about this evening overnight? leaving this afternoon for a night and day in the dells tomorrow so I guess it doesn't matter much what it does this afternoon/night..

Looks like we're both stuck in convective debris clouds for the next several hours, so it will probably be a struggle to 90...if we even get near it.

Not that I believe it because of how sh*tty it's been the past 24hrs, but the HRRR suggests we see more development in N. Wisconson and the U.P. this afternoon...It also has another MCS form in. S. Wisconsin/N. Illinois/E. Iowa.

We'll see if that's right...

Thanks chi! Cloudy but up to 86/77 here.. 88 MDW. Good ole airport tarmac readings? Or just no rain cooling like to our west? pretty impressive temps for no sun at all nonetheless..

Its 89.4 at my house with mostly cloudy skies. I bet IND could hit 95 today without any cloud debris but the stuff up there around you will probably make it here later.

dam warmer than I thought down there.

I kinna gave up even looking at the temps in LAF and Indiana as I figured it would be clouded up before they hit 90.. I need a big jump from lafs 87 now cuz its a coming.
