Hoosier
Flip a coin as to whether we hit 100 tomorrow. Models are showing slightly lower dewpoints and we may start out a degree or so warmer.
tacoman25
Op run seems warmer and there is some other model support. Probably not the extreme event we're seeing now but above average. Above normal seems likely for much of the Midwest, but nothing like this week. The core of the ridging shifts to the West per the 12z Euro, leaving the east coast with much cooler temps. Stevo6899
12Z NAM showing high temps of 102-104F tomorrow here. We'll see. Not that they are very accurate but TWC has added a chance of rain. As much as we need it, would be nice for it to hold off and see if we can reach 100.
sc2man13
The swimming pool I work at is literally right next to Palwaukee. Palwaukee is a hot spot in the area for sure. The 5 hours I was out today was hellish to say the least.

As they say, though, while the reading was probably accurate for that particular location due to the ponding and agriculture, it was not representative of the actual meteorological conditions for the region. Yeah if Chicago's official obs site was actually in the ****ing city then Chicago would have actually ****ing hit ****ing 100°F (Lakefront hit 100°F too). wisconsinwx
I feel bad for St Louis. They're stuck in the middle of systems, with highs near 100 in the next three days. I wouldn't be able to handle that. Glad I'm getting a respite the next few days.

For an accurate climate for the city in general, it should be Midway. Let's also not fail to mention how Chicago's climate record is nonexistent because it consists of 4 drastically different observing sites... With a city the size of Chicago and with microclimates caused by the urban heat island, the lake etc etc isn't it a bit unreasonable to have one site represent the city? Especially if it is on the furthest NW fringe...

TimChgo9
"Al Sleet here, the hippy-dippy weather man".... LOL. To paraphrase; "It's 100 degrees at the airport. Which is stupid, because I don't know anyone who lives at the airport." .... I have never understood why the main reporting station for Chicago is at ORD. Would it not make sense to have it more centrally located, albeit a few more miles inland? Like, at the United Center, for example, or something like that? Chicago's metro area, is from the WI border, to the IN border, and from the lake front to about 35 miles inland. Certainly, ORD is NOT representative of the weather in, oh, Plainfield, perhaps? or Cary, or Evanston?
