OHSnow
LOL. Too funny. NWS CLE is now saying the water temperature at Cleveland is 61. Give me a break. That would be 12 degrees below normal, an all-time record low, and on par for late October. Meanwhile, the water temperature at Buffalo is 75, one degree below the record high for the date. What water temp are they measuring? THE WATER TEMPERATURE OFF TOLEDO IS 76 DEGREES AND OFF ERIE 70 DEGREES. THE WATER TEMPERATURE OFF CLEVELAND AT THE ALTERNATE SITE IS 61 DEGREES. Maybe Trent or somebody could confirm... is the water temperature at Cleveland really 61? I've been looking at the maps and buoys and they've been indicating mid-to-upper 70 LSTs. TWC reported a water temp of 75 at Cleveland this morning. For the sake of our Cleveland friends, I wish the water temp was 61, because that would give them some good cooling. But it just seems outside the range of believability.
SpartyOn
Fog has burned off here in the chain o lakes region..(torch lake) not much in the way of cloud debris either..should help sky rocket the temps. Some good triggers for storms latter today if only it would materialize dont wont to see a waste of the ring of fire.
Indystorm
82/82 at both Warsaw and Grissom/Peru IN....Simply amazing! Cloud cover here at my place with 78 dew.
tacoman25
3-5" of rain in Cleveland with widespread flash flooding and ponding should knock max temps a few degrees today. Even yesterday, only lower to mid 80s along the shore. Wow, 2.5" in one hour early this morning at the airport. Nice.
kab2791
Looks like the new NAM and it's parallel are going with more ridging versus troughing this weekend so hot conditions will remain in place.
Chicago Storm
90/74 here and 89/72 at ORD. If not for the lake breeze that will push through, we would likey make it into the upper 90's.
snowlord81
My thermometer is far from official but its reading 91.2 and a dew of 83.1 I dont think its to far off, I've never felt this much mugginess in the air. Im out near the open country with lots of corn crop.
Chicago Storm
97/93/97/100 for DTW, Mon-Thur. 92/95/99/101 for ORD. 101/101 Wed/Thur off the 12z NAM for ORD, so still fairly consistent.

Hoosier
Briefly had a dewpoint of 81 earlier. Temp up to 93 and with clouds not looking to be much of an issue, shouldn't be difficult to tack on another degree or two.
beavis1729
You know it's hot when ORD had the lake breeze kick in (E winds at 10 mph) and it's still 90/75, HI 101. Waukegan is only 82. RFD, far enough west of the lake breeze, is 95/75, HI 107.

Temp up to 93 and with clouds not looking to be much of an issue, shouldn't be difficult to tack on another degree or two. I was hoping that the clouds would at least slow the heat a little, but really hasn't played out that way. Also, i'm guessing that Chicago_WX has locked himself away in a freezer until the heatwave has passed.
Hoosier
101/101 Wed/Thur off the 12z NAM for ORD, so still fairly consistent. Looks like it will be very close on both days. 850's are a little marginal but NAM is advertising deep mixing.

OHSnow
Looks like another heat wave possible by the end of the month? The 8-14 day temperature outlook is calling for above normal temps for the eastern 2/3rds of the country, with the greatest chance for warm weather from the Southern Plains into the upper Ohio Valley. wisconsinwx
MKE still is only 80F right now, but Milwaukee-Timmerman (the smaller airport, closer to my house) is 86. Even if Timmerman hits 90, but MKE doesn't, I'm counting it as a 90 degree day, just so we have a shot at 6 90F days in a row.
Hoosier
Here is the 12z NAM for ORD. Low level lapse rates are steep...basically dry adiabatic up to 850 mb. Mixing that down would support a high of about 38C at the surface, or 100.

Indystorm
LAF back to its rightful spot...warmest location in the state. This I.U. grad always thought there was a lot of hot air around Purdue. But this week is certainly going to remind me of summer 1995 for sure all over the Midwest, especially with respect to dewpoints as contrasted with the summer of 1988.
