A personal fave of mine - Pickles and Miser enjoying a nice bicycle ride on their way to a picnic. Notice the use of light-colored clothing and hats. Good thinking on their part..

That's awesome, Eric!

Where's pickles been these days??

72.6/68. Heading to Manchester today for a meeting. Better being there today than Thursday that's for sure!

It will be time to discuss drought conditions if this continues. With much of the Southern US being in serious drought conditions, nearly up through M.A. and August /Sept approaching...not too far fetched.

Today: Sunny, with a high near 89. Calm wind becoming northwest between 7 and 10 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 59. North wind between 5 and 8 mph becoming calm.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. Calm wind becoming southwest between 6 and 9 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 68. Southwest wind between 5 and 8 mph.

Thursday: Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 97. West wind between 6 and 15 mph.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 71.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 92.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 70.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 88.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 67.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 83.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 61.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 83.

Great...drought conditions just in time to ruin fall colors for a second year in a row thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

Not to worry though, August should feature a Cat 3+ cane barreling into the heart of SNE. SNE is due for one you know.

For ****s and giggles...if this run verified the NH state record likely gets taken down. A 24-25C 850 right over ASH with W winds would probably yield 41-42C or 106-108F. There would be crappily shielded home sites showing 110-115F.

What is scary now is that the Euro ensembles now have 850s pushing 24C on Friday with 2m 100s as well. 00z MEX is now 99-97-96 for Th-F-Sa at ASH. Kevin jokes about deaths, but it could be precarious for the older folks without A/C. I'm sure TWC would like to remind us to keep an eye on the elderly and make sure your pets have plenty of water.

Holy crap.. I couldn't even imagine 106 with dews in the 60s..

Have we ever seen this modelled heat up our way before dendrite?

Mets, what usually happens as we get closer to these heat events? Does the forecast tend to get hotter or colder?

Well you saw what happened with the June 7-9 heat wave. That one also had 100s for high temps and everyone whipped in a death heat frenzy and didn't pan out. Something more often than not seems to come out of the blue and screw up a perfectly good record setting heat wave be it cloud debris, fog takes longer to burn off, unforeseen wind shift, etc. There's a reason all the New England state records are right around 106F. As remarkable as this upcoming heat wave may seem, is it even enough to even beat July 6 from last year which saw 100+ right down to the beaches? I'd be afraid to throw down anything more than a 100 on a forecast at the typical torch spots in New England at this point. Perhaps at Newark, on the tarmac, we'll see 105 type heat which will then get "corrected" back a couple of degrees much to the dismay of the NYC crowd :D

Honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if dews weren't that high if the pre-frontal trough comes through. But, the trade off is higher temps.

Scott, gun to head, what's the highest temp a.major station will see you think? Or is it too early?

if he doesn't answer, shoot him.. there is no too early, that's the point of the gun. then the next guy will answer when you point a gun at him

Well I wouldn't be shocked if someone touched 100. Probably BDL or BOS with the best shot. It's still kind of far out, so I wouldn't probably throw that number up yet, but it's certainly possible. If people have a heat fetish, then hey need no cirrus or convective debris to come down on Friday. Slight chance that happens.
