It will be time to discuss drought conditions if this continues. With much of the Southern US being in serious drought conditions, nearly up through M.A. and August /Sept approaching...not too far fetched.

Today: Sunny, with a high near 89. Calm wind becoming northwest between 7 and 10 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 59. North wind between 5 and 8 mph becoming calm.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. Calm wind becoming southwest between 6 and 9 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 68. Southwest wind between 5 and 8 mph.

Thursday: Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 97. West wind between 6 and 15 mph.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 71.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 92.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 70.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 88.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 67.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 83.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 61.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 83.

I see we got up to a brutal 78.5 on Monday...while I was down in the lower Hudson Valley in the heat.

64/62 now. It looks like a pleasant enough day for July 19th.

No sugar coating Thursday and Friday...glad I'll have the a/c. But things certainly break nicely from Saturday afternoon onward on the GFS.

Friday is puke sick here on the Euro. 24-25C 850s at 18z and 2m 100s everywhere...lol.

Yeah Friday looks like mostly west winds for a good chunk of New England, except southwest on the south coast. It might be one of those things where BOS tries for the century mark, but dews might be like 65 or something like that..while HYA is 89/74 or something like that.

You're solidly above normal for the hottest month of the year through the 18th but sure....

60/60, Wow, another brutal night for sleeping with the oppresive 60's for a low, yesterday's scorching high of 77 was nearly unbearable. If it hits 80 I don't know what I'll do. It's just day after day of 70's and low 80's. If this outrageous heat continues I'm sure all the flora and fauna in this area will perish. It's funny how you guys like to hype run of the mill summer weather into "Death Heat". I'm in the sun from 6am until sunset. I can tell you with certainty this summer has been a breeze to get through as there has simply been little in the way of high heat and humidity. Perhaps in the I-95 megalopolis belt it has been tough but here it has been clear sailing. In addition, we've moved through most of July without a 90 degree temp (the temp that to me is where truly hot begins). Nothing noteworthy, typical July.

For ****s and giggles...if this run verified the NH state record likely gets taken down. A 24-25C 850 right over ASH with W winds would probably yield 41-42C or 106-108F. There would be crappily shielded home sites showing 110-115F.

What is scary now is that the Euro ensembles now have 850s pushing 24C on Friday with 2m 100s as well. 00z MEX is now 99-97-96 for Th-F-Sa at ASH. Kevin jokes about deaths, but it could be precarious for the older folks without A/C. I'm sure TWC would like to remind us to keep an eye on the elderly and make sure your pets have plenty of water.

Yeah they are pretty hot. MOS seems suspiciously low for BOS. If they have more of a west wind Thursday and especially Friday...Logan tips 100. If there were a chance, Friday would be the day. I think MOS is lower due to tstms painted on the GFS, but I doubt some of that occurs.

You'll get it.

Thursday looks like the day with Box forecasting 91 here.Fortunately, there is an ice cold mountain stream with a waterfall to sit under right outside the door. Haven't been there yet this year but I'm teaching my daughter how to swim so if the heat does get in here it'll be a good excuse for a lesson.

I haven't looked at a lot, but with the warm mid-levels I'd assume we're capped pretty good. Is that a prefrontal trough hanging around Fri afternoon on the Euro? That would really help the flow turn NW behind it up here.

84hr NAM says to enjoy your drive.

Yeah euro has some sort of a trough around, but that's a classic setup to what I mentioned earlier where Logan goes west and just nukes. Same with you guys up there.

You're gonna have all the CAPE in the world, but capped like a mofo.

I actually wouldn't mind being capped off...just as long as the lift is strong enough and we have at least decent height falls and cooling mid level temps to help erode the cap.

We may end up with nothing at all this go around, however, after next week, it appears there could be a series of troughs that work through southern Canada so if this ends up occurring maybe in the 10-14 day range we can muster something up.

Our region tends to get its biggest heat when it advects in from the NW. MSP was 98 yesterday, ELO (about a 2 hour drive N of Duluth) was 93, INL 93, DLH 92. Those are uncommonly hot temps for the north country outside of MSP which does experience it from time to time. Similar temps tomorrow before a break for them. I think no one in SNE below 500 feet escapes the upper 90s or higher.

It's hot in Fargo.....you betcha it is.
