Must have had a lot of rain or some kind of pea soup air mass to only get to 93 with a low of 84.

a lot of days were like that in the early 1900's...maybe it was smoke from burning stuff all the time?...I have to read up on the history of Central Park...The building booms that effected the area and if there were any tent cities in the park at the time...

Yeah, high dewpoints along with enough clouds, haze,or smoke would have kept the daily maxes down and mins up.

They had a few days like that in August also.

98 at ACY at 12 and 1PM. Has good shot at making it to C mark before clouds roll in. Also, wcdf slowing sagging south through mid-Hudson Valley (distinct wind shift to north at KSWF and noticeable drop in dps from Albany north (lower to mid 60's there to upper 40's to lower 50's just north of NY/Quebec border).

Agreed.....some thunder would be a bonus

Would love a nice rainy day sometime soon.

Seriously. My plants need constant watering now and even the lawn that stays pretty green without regular watering needs to be watered daily.

I agree about thunder btw. Probably my favorite part of a storm.

Wow@ 1896-- no AC back then.....and the highest weekly average for mins, that period must have been a total aberration for weather back then. The average min was a full degree higher than number 2!

Expect to see longer breaks of sun between 2 and 3. I think we'll spike to the mid 90s. Tomorrow looks to stay well below 90. Thu (7/28) - Sun (7/31) still looks hot.

Hopefully we go over 100 again! Did ACY get to 100 today?

High today at JFK so far is 93, which occurred at 12:51 PM, 91 at NYC from 2:51 PM and 95 at EWR which occurred just a few min ago at 3:51 PM. LGA's high was only 88 and now it's down to 81-- 9 degrees lower than JFK with NE winds!

I dont think ACY hit 100, they were at 98 a few hours ago and then the sea breeze came in down there, SE winds, now down to 92.
