Stormlover74
I dont think ewr will drop below 90 for highs thru the end of the month Guidance has been rather consistent with building in a significant ridge and the next surge of strong heat by the 29th. Some of the numbers for tue/wed may come up as well.
SACRUS
I believe TTN ended up at 106. I have it as

August 1918 (famous heatwave that year, it was 107 in Eastern PA, they may have matched that today), July 1977 (black outs and riots) and now. I heard it even got to 103 in the Poconos today! HailMan06
Went to my local municipal pool for a nice, long swim and the water was Earthlight's pool temp. Guy taking the temperature of pool said the temperature was a balmy 89 degrees! Water was the warmest I ever felt, and I have been going pretty much all my life! Anyway, KMMU (closest NWS reporting staion from my house) is reached 100 degrees and went down to a "cooler" 99 F. My cat was dying from the heat and had to be moved to my air-conditioned room. Have to say today is the hottest and most miserable day of my life, at least so far!

A-L-E-X
Wow, lots of all time records tied or missed by only 1-2 degrees. Makes me think we came close to the hottest it can get around here lol.
tmagan
Wow only 92 near the present day site of JFK on 9/2/53? We were hotter in 1983! You should look that one up too. What date?
ag3
Crazy but went from 103 to 103.8, in the past hour at my home in Astoria. Weather station topped out at 105.
A-L-E-X
What date? I cant remember the date but it was somewhere in the middle or latter portion of the month (21,22 maybe).... JFK and NYC were 98,99 for two days in a row and Trenton hit 102 and 101 I believe. That wasnt the hottest day at JFK that summer (they hit 100 in July) but it was strange to see temps near 100 near the first day of Fall lol. A-L-E-X
Crazy but went from 103 to 103.8, in the past hour at my home in Astoria. Weather station topped out at 105.3 Wow, that must be an all time record for you (for your station that is.) Would have been fun to get you up around July 4, 1966 levels when LGA hit 107-- I bet that would feel much better as the humidity was much lower back then. famartin
Are those all time records at ACY, RDG and ABE too, Ray? ACY and ABE missed by 1 degree. RDG broke theirs (was 105). TTN tied.
ag3
Wow, that must be an all time record for you. Only been in Astoria for 2 years. But the 105 in Astoria and even the 104 at my old home in Whitestone/Flushing is the hottest temp that I know of in my 31 years.
snowman21
Interesting that Groton only made it to 95-- I think they hit 100 last summer, as did Montauk. I believe GON reached 101 on July 6 last year which tied their all-time high temperature. My weather station, on the coast 20 miles west of Groton briefly reached 94 for a high today with only a few hours of 90+. SE CT through southern RI and the islands (BID, MVY, ACK, etc.) stayed relatively cool.
