CAT5ANDREW
No question about that. I was out there at 1:30 today and the humidity is unbearable. Can't even breathe. The only hotter day I experienced then today was probably the day in 1995 you pointed out yesterday and a 115 temperature in Vegas and believe it or not it wasn't that typical dry heat there was some humidity that day too. Forget the year but I can only imagine what the HI was that day as it was an unusually humid day for Vegas standards anyway. JULY 1977 had a 2 week period of intense heat. They hit 100+ on 3 out of 4 days and nearly did it 4 consecutive days.JULY 1993 had 3 consecutive days in NYC.AUG 2006 had 3 consecutive 100 degree days here. bluewave
I see you guys have dropped, but your high was 102 wasnt it? The Long Beach PWS I was keeping track of reached 102 earlier. I made to 99.3 here 2 blocks form the beach. The station right in the middle of town further away from the immediate shore than me hit 101 earlier. CAT5ANDREW
Is this bigger than July 15, 1995? I would say yes. Might be bigger than the 1993 and 1999 heat spikes too. in coverage and intensity.yes.Duration no.

I was thinking about that too, Andrew. Last summer was a lot like 1966 and this one may be like 1977. Guess what happened in the winters following all those summers (1955, 1966, 1977, 1993, 1995, 2002, 2010, 2011?)

Mass mayhem!

dbc
lets go 110, even 115! Hell No to 115! I have felt that in Vegas on a day where there was actually more humidity than you'd expect there to be in Vegas. Was around 55-60% humidity I think. It isn't pretty.
