sctvman
Whatever it is, 105, 106, 107 at Newark, that's unbelievable. The record at CHS is 105 on August 1, 1999. Amazing.
Sundog
Why would it? He's just kidding around but they do that last year.
A-L-E-X
I hope JFK shattering that measly 104 record is not out of the question. 3 degrees is a lot though. Central Park's 106 has to go, I highly doubt LGA is passing 107 though. 104 F is symbolic for another reason-- it's 40 C ! First time I can remember it hitting 40 C here. Manny
this is incredible. last night's sky looked like a desert sky, hazy, muggy, and the bright red sun setting. It's like living arizona, wtf. lol
CAT5ANDREW
I have never ever seen heat this intense and this expansive up and down the entire coast. If heat had some kind of NESIS comparison this would be a high end 4 or even a 5. Just insane. FWIW only three days have ever hit 104+ in NYC (four including today). All time is 106--I don't think we'll pass it, but 105-106 is certainly possible. Lows tonight should be around 90? I agree. This is something that happens maybe once every 50-75 years.if that. OHSnow
I don't think it's an outlier. If NYC is at 104 right now, I am sure Newark is at 107. Yeah, if we're going to do that... let's go back and start decertifying all sorts of records. We'll start with the high of 111 at Phoenixville, PA on 7/10/1936. Not plausible, since it was only 104 in Philly and 103 in Harrisburg that day.

mike2010
It's not inaccurate, unless they want to play the same game they played last year. Coming from a Met, I gotta say TY.
Sundog
So far the only station not living up to the hype is LGA.

From Boston to DC along the coast it was over 100 July 6th last year.

Sundog
NW component to the wind? It has to be that. Usually they roast right behind Newark. I'm at 103.4 and I'm literally 12 blocks from the open sound, only 6 from the bay. But the ASOS at LGA is so close to the river you can throw a rock from there and hit water lol.
