pazzo83
You are insane! AC cost only $20-$30 a month only to run. You can't put an AC in my window so I'd have to get it professionally installed.
A-L-E-X
How are you not dead? I got a portable AC after it got to the mid 80s in May. Best. Investment. EVER. DCA is 102/77 btw for a 119 heat index. LOL and you thought it would be better up here haha (looks like the temp is higher here but the heat index is a bit lower-- not that anyone could really tell lol.) You are more than welcome to come up to da boogie down, put on 100 lbs of gear and tools, and lose 10 lbs of water. Lol

mempho
EWR 107 This is insane. EWR is on pace to have an all-time record higher than ours at KMEM. I just don't believe its 107 at Newark. How in the heck? I'm glad it's not here, though...you guys can keep the insane heat.
dbc
This is almost as exciting as the blizzards last winter Winter 2009-10: record breaking February Summer 2010 : record breaking over all, with megaheatwave in early July Winter 2010-11: record breaking snowcover and Dec 25-Jan 27 period Summer 2011: megatorch followed by another megatorch of 100+? Winter 2011-12: I wonder what Ma Nature has in store for us next Summer 2010 : Don't forget the historic (maybe record breaking) four tornado warnings on 4 different days in one summer in the NYC/NJ metro area. 3 in the 5 boroughs alone. If heat had some kind of NESIS comparison this would be a high end 4 or even a 5. Just insane. FWIW only three days have ever hit 104+ in NYC (four including today). All time is 106--I don't think we'll pass it, but 105-106 is certainly possible. Lows tonight should be around 90?

A-L-E-X
Temps are still rising-- sea breeze is nonexistent today. The next JFK update should have 103 or perhaps even higher. Their all time record is 104 from 1966!
Cfa
I hope JFK shattering that measly 104 record is not out of the question. 3 degrees is a lot though. Central Park's 106 has to go, I highly doubt LGA is passing 107 though.
