While I have mentioned that 106 is within reach for NYC, I think that 103 or perhaps 104 is more likely.

WX/PT

I think 104 is the highest its getting....it seems for whatever reason in these big heatwaves that NYC's temp sometimes freezes after noon or 1pm....they did gain 5 degrees from the noon ob yesterday, but its a gell of a lot easier to go 91-96 than it is 100-106 just based off climatology alone.

I agree, but NYC has been rising at 3 degrees/hr for the past 2 hours and even if that decreased to 2 degrees/hr they'd have a shot at 105 or 106. The higher numbers are definitely within reach and more-so than they were earlier. But, I'd still have to lean more toward 104 for a high there.

Lower DPs that day. Higher DPs and possible cloud build up today will probably slow heating this afternoon. I'm thinking 102-103 for NYC.

I was in Summer camp that year so I never experienced that heat.JULY 15 1995,it was 104 here with a 80 dewpoint.

RUC BUFKIT for KEWR at 01Z predicting a CAPE+ only of 6909 J/kg and a LI of -11. If we get something to break the cap, the storms can be briefly strong.

The numbers are outrageous, but I don't see anything breaking through. Here is Upton's sounding from this morning, pretty good for storms if something can break through
