Wxoutlooksblog
I've been predicting 103 for the high temp for Central Park this afternoon and I believe they're well on their way and that number may at this point be conservative. It is already 93 as of 10am at the park. While my 103 may end up being correct, the park could actually go higher than that and it is not so far fetched to think that they could come close to or reach the all-time record of 106. It feels strange to say that, but it's not completely out of reach. WX/PT

RutgersWx92
95.5 here according to my weather station. 94 as of 10 am at the Somerset airport, a full 10 degrees warmer than they were yesterday at this time when they made it up to 100. Unbelievable that Newark is already at 98. History is in the making.

earthlight
With these high dew points there's often a mid-day slow down in the rate of temperature climb...but eventually they will get 105-106 I think..probably 3pm. Today will definitely be a historical day at Newark as they are moving towards their all time record high.
LocoAko
The METAR itself has 36.7C which is exactly 98F. I'd go with that. 2011/07/22 13:51 KEWR 221351Z 30008KT 8SM FEW250 37/23 A2984 RMK AO2 SLP104 HAZE ALOFT VIS LWR NE-S T03670233

tornadojay
I am at 92.6 right now, but I am surrounded by a good bit of trees so my observation is completely shaded from any sunshine right now.. Later in the day, I should start climbing more rapidly as I get direct sun on it.
earthlight
I think some of the decoders round up the C temp so the 36.7 is rounded to 37...which is 99. The metar that tornadojay posted has 37 C as the temp.
