Yeah, as long as you don't pass out from heat stroke. ;) Good thing about cutting grass is you at least have a breeze, moving on the mower.

High was 96 here, still 91/78 right now. Great night swimming coming up the next few nights.

The difference between Long Beach and Midtown is like night and day. In Midtown at 6pm there was almost no breeze and just a stifling, broiling, engulfing heat mixed with thick humidity. Just about unbearable. Here at 7:30 there's a strong south breeze and moderate/borderline heat, but nothing excessive. There has to be at least 15 degrees difference between here and Midtown.

I haven't been outside yet today. I'm about to go to Columbus Circle. I would take the subway (versus walking--20ish blocks) but it's the choice between slowly boiling and rapidly broiling. I'll chance it with the former, I think...

You should partake in the splendid retreat known as the Devil's Furnace (aka the NQR platform at Herald Square). Current temp: 134F.

There's no way anyone can even pay me to take a subway today. I was in them for last summer's heat and it's almost impossible even to breathe. I ruined a shirt from the sweat also. I walked from near Grand Central to Penn Station-bad not not as brutal as taking the shuttle or 1-2-3.

Lol. At some points today you felt a breeze, other then that it was hot. Can't wait for the pool and burgers on Saturday. One more day.

We did about 12 today and got done at 3. .we only skipped 3 lawns this week but Fridays lawns on the schedule are mostly browned out so we probably only do a handful. Next week is when we really catch up on all our trimming.

I will say this. I agree with you, it does make a man out of you, makes you mentally tougher and makes you more disciplined., people who work in offices have no idea what we go through so I just laugh at any of their complaining

I still dont know why you guys load up all your cutting on two days though

Yeah its def a workout, its always humbling when that customer hands you that warm bottle of water. Lol. I cut all residential so they want there lawns looking good for the weekend. Plus I need 3 days for maintenance work and days to work around my other job. We cut 2 commercial lots which get done on monday. This week will prob be our last full route week, unless we get some rain.

I hear ya, unless i'm standing right in front of it it barely feels like it's on....was in a few stores today and they were barely cooled

It felt like I was getting assaulted every time I stepped outside today. Last year's 100 degree days were less horrible.

My A/C's are having a hard time keeping up.

It looks like the models (GFS) that predicted the high dewpoints were on the ball. Even when temps are in the mid 80s, dewpoints in the 70s are atrocious. When it's 100, it's unbearable. Tomorrow should have some better mixing of lower dewpoints due to WNW wind as well as mixing of lower dewpoints from aloft, but the higher temps could make it just as bad. Saturday too.

This is pretty much Texas or deep, deep South weather.

Amazing how the heat's caught up over the last month, after so many of us were kavotching over the wet/cool Spring. We're lucky we had that wet spring and snowy winter or else many of us would be facing drought now.

In many ways it's awesome how variable our climate is here. Multiple 1-2 foot snowstorms last season with blizzard conditions, to 100-105 degree heat and 110+ heat indices now.
