Outside of 1936,104 degrees is the highest temperature that Central Park has been able to make it to.

And only three times.... August 1918 (famous heatwave that year, it was 107 in Eastern PA, they may have matched that today), July 1977 (black outs and riots) and now.

I heard it even got to 103 in the Poconos today!

Went to my local municipal pool for a nice, long swim and the water was Earthlight's pool temp. Guy taking the temperature of pool said the temperature was a balmy 89 degrees! Water was the warmest I ever felt, and I have been going pretty much all my life!

Anyway, KMMU (closest NWS reporting staion from my house) is reached 100 degrees and went down to a "cooler" 99 F. My cat was dying from the heat and had to be moved to my air-conditioned room.

Have to say today is the hottest and most miserable day of my life, at least so far!

All we need now is some record cold to go along with the record snows and heat.arrowheadsmiley.png

Well I want you to reach 100 tomorrow first-- 99.3 is just sad :( You were so close!

It was really close. If the sea breeze had held off just a little while longer,I would have made it.

Still 103 here. Amazing.

LGA 102

Let's see if it's still in the triple digits at the start of the Yankee game. Still 105 at EWR and 101 at NYC.

Could you imagine if they had a day game today? LOL

What date?

I cant remember the date but it was somewhere in the middle or latter portion of the month (21,22 maybe).... JFK and NYC were 98,99 for two days in a row and Trenton hit 102 and 101 I believe.

That wasnt the hottest day at JFK that summer (they hit 100 in July) but it was strange to see temps near 100 near the first day of Fall lol.

Crazy but went from 103 to 103.8, in the past hour at my home in Astoria.

Weather station topped out at 105.3

Wow, that must be an all time record for you (for your station that is.) Would have been fun to get you up around July 4, 1966 levels when LGA hit 107-- I bet that would feel much better as the humidity was much lower back then.

Only been in Astoria for 2 years.

But the 105 in Astoria and even the 104 at my old home in Whitestone/Flushing is the hottest temp that I know of in my 31 years.

Interesting that Groton only made it to 95-- I think they hit 100 last summer, as did Montauk.

I believe GON reached 101 on July 6 last year which tied their all-time high temperature. My weather station, on the coast 20 miles west of Groton briefly reached 94 for a high today with only a few hours of 90+. SE CT through southern RI and the islands (BID, MVY, ACK, etc.) stayed relatively cool.

Newark came close to the states all time record high which still stands at 110 set back in 1936, Runyon, NJ

http://en.wikipedia....atures_by_state

I'm surprised they didn't break it since temps are taken at the airport.

I want to see some maps from 1936 to see what kind of airmass it took to get a 110 temp in NJ lol.
