HailMan06 Posted July 22, 2011 Share Posted July 22, 2011 Went to my local municipal pool for a nice, long swim and the water was Earthlight's pool temp. Guy taking the temperature of pool said the temperature was a balmy 89 degrees! Water was the warmest I ever felt, and I have been going pretty much all my life! Anyway, KMMU (closest NWS reporting staion from my house) is reached 100 degrees and went down to a "cooler" 99 F. My cat was dying from the heat and had to be moved to my air-conditioned room. That wasnt the hottest day at JFK that summer (they hit 100 in July) but it was strange to see temps near 100 near the first day of Fall lol. I believe GON reached 101 on July 6 last year which tied their all-time high temperature. My weather station, on the coast 20 miles west of Groton briefly reached 94 for a high today with only a few hours of 90+.
