The Mid-AA County cell is raining itself out at the moment. BWI got 50 kt winds and hail. Places north and west of me got ~2"+ of rain. I got a load of CC lightning and rain. A little disappointed for IMBY, but a Good day for North AA Co.. Minus the house that caught fire in Odenton.

Amazing spatial variability. I live within a mile of here, and my bucket hasn't tipped once. It is like a brick wall at the Beltway this afternoon. I'd be more pissed, but we've made out ok this summer.

That was a nice storm that just moved through Herndon, certainly the best I've personally experienced this summer as far as T&L goes. We even had some small hail, nothing that reached severe levels, but I hadn't seen any yet this summer. According to my fiance, she saw some bigger hail, nickel sized or so, near Vienna not too long ago.

Can someone with knowledge explain this wierd base velocity reading east of KLWX? There was some very good wind in that green area that came through here, but seems like shifting direction Out west.

Taking a look at the loop, it looks like it's two outflow boundaries colliding.

Plenty of thunder but nada here S side

got a bit of stratiform precip behind the cells.. seems to be providing for occasional close strikes even with not much going on for a while. good time to hit up a tall object.
