EastCoast NPZ
97 at 12:15 pm in Stephens City. Each day we're running 4 -6 degrees higher than forecast. Today's forecast high is 98, so it looks likely that we exceed 100. This F'in place must be the hottest place on earth. Ridiculous.

WinterWxLuvr
HPC seems to like the idea of some decent rains over the next several days. A good downpour would certainly help the plants and grass that are certainly struggling with this heat.

Ian
The weekend looks semi interesting storm wise. Sunday in particular with a fairly potent s/w floating around. We saw the big heat come to some explosive endings last yr.

gymengineer
It's hot here. But we think it is randy. Lunch at g and m now The most cost effective thing to do is, for 2 people, to order one crabcake platter (2 crabcakes) and 1 crab-topped oyster appetizer (plenty of crab meat on those). Herb@MAWS
Perfect unfolding of events. We get to observe the 100+ temps, followed by at least a chance of storms. Would've been a bummer if storms had arrived early PM.

CranberryWX
does the severe wx today deserve a thread too? I had written off the storm but I'm about to get raked. wvclimo said 1.78" of rain at Hagerstown in the last hour. Temp has dropped 25 degrees out here. constant thunder, constant lightning, and looks like the storm is reorganizing overhead after coming off the Alleghenies a few miles west. Charleston radar has several storms that are barely moving in this stagnent flow. If one gets over you I bet it's a gully washer. Damn UM radar is loading very slow today. tamerakitten
After the weird calmness--big bang of thunder and it started to rain about 5 minutes ago. Not a gullywasher but liquid is falling from the sky!
WVclimo
Have a friend who is trying to get to my house to pick up her kids from a play date. The three different roads she could take are all blocked by downed trees.
CranberryWX
could not see across the street--blinding rain in sheets. now it's just regular steady heavy rain--we should pick up a few inches if this hangs on. the storms are moving in a clockwise circle that is slowly drifting east. Nice heat buster...I finally got the animation on the radar to load with the storm track arrows. It's kind of funny watching the arrows just wiggle around in multiple directions.
