Baroclinic Zone
I think the system at 180-192h is going to be pretty classic looking. Bombs away!
dryslot
That's a decent event for the interior. Look how quick it blows through though...in and out in like 8 hrs! As we thought, Couple of decent chances coming for snow, I do like the clipper next week here........

MaineJayhawk
Northern Maine could have one hell of a week with the 12+ Monday followed by the clipper/bomb combo.

ski MRG
I've been very optimistic all along but have kept my emotions in check. That said, I'm officially getting psyched now.

Bostonseminole
looking good so far, models have been pretty locked in with 12-10 to 12-14 for our first measurable snows.. need to catch up on sleep by wed it's game on!!
CoastalWx
GFS really amplifies the s/w energy coming out of the Midwest. It would definitely help to have the first storm a little stronger and make sure this doesn't get too far west. That follow up piece of vorticity coming from the PV and diving southeast from the Great Lakes will also play a role. We don't want that to phase too early. MaineJayhawk
Big gains in snowpack in the next 10 days........ Could be something like 30" for the week for them if this verifies. Long ways to go, especially for the motherlode, though.
DomNH
Man, I wish it was a D5 threat and not a D8 threat right now...that's like 4 runs in a row now that we've been clobbered.
Bostonseminole
nothing better than a beer.. watching football and waiting for the EURO.. actually I guess watching football with a beer in a raging blizzard would be better..
Baroclinic Zone
Basically, the Euro, GGEM, and now the GFS all show the same scenario.
CoastalWx
wagons west? Hopefully the clipper intensify enough. Not very comfortable having a storm just east of CHH at 192 hrs out, when we have all that energy in the Midwest. I do think that pattern does support an explosive low. Bostonseminole
what's the canadian showing on this run?
OSUmetstud
I think it's cool that over the past few days that the pattern itself seems to want to produce a snowstorm..not just some rogue shortwave. 500mb looks significantly different from 06z..the midwest shortwave is initially much weaker...but we still have SECS/MECS for New England just like the previous few runs. CoastalWx
GFS ensembles bring the second low right over the BM and into the Gulf of Maine. Now we just need to hold this for 180 hours.
moneypitmike
Solid. Even moneypit has to be getting interested after reading these words. Lots of time for things to go haywire but I like the fact it's been on the charts for weeks (seemingly). Just got in from gettting the tree to find the GFS from Friday-Monday. Brought tears of joy to my eyes. Kinda like Clarke Griswalk when they pull up to Wally World.
