CoastalWx
Yeah Naugatuck Valley is notorious for a surprise 3" from Lake Effect. Sometimes the greater hartford region too. Bunch of 3-5" reports... impressive! 5"?? Who got that?

CoastalWx
Goshen had 5" Kent - 4.5" New Milford - 3.5" Washington 4" Wow that's pretty good. That area sometimes cashes in on those bands. I think that band came from Lake Huron.
Baroclinic Zone
Where is Cweat to start tracking Friday's shortwave over Midway Island. He should be banging the RUC for tonights snow showers.

Damage In Tolland
I'm still whining about not getting my 3-6" widepread in SNE this weekend!!! hey parts of SNE did get it..so it's a 50/50 split
CT Rain
Wow that's pretty good. That area sometimes cashes in on those bands. I think that band came from Lake Huron. Nice vort max just north provided enough weak synoptic scale lift when coupled with some extra moisture from the Huron-Ontario band to get things going. H2Otown_WX
Yeah Naugatuck Valley is notorious for a surprise 3" from Lake Effect. Sometimes the greater hartford region too. Bunch of 3-5" reports... impressive! Did some places in Litchfield County get screwed? My house on the north side of Watertown only had like a quarter of an inch but I noticed while I was driving that south of downtown near Middlebury had an inch or more. Logan11
High temps are a joke this time of the year because they are totally unrepresentative of the average temperature most people will experience outside that day. You tend to hit the high around 3 PM briefly before most people leave work. The real wx you are exposed to is the cold in the AM and the falling temps in the evening. So what if the high in a given spot was 40F. If its 25 when you leave in the morning and then already back down to 35 when you leave in the evening...was that 40F high temperature even relevant to your life? Why does your stations five day graphic never show lows? Just highs inland and at the coast, what use is that, hopefully this forecast is better than last nights 11 for folks who depend on it. CoastalWx
Nice vort max just north provided enough weak synoptic scale lift when coupled with some extra moisture from the Huron-Ontario band to get things going. Yeah it helps having that ULL around to aid in that type of stuff. I love when we get those long track bands coming from Superior or Huron. They are sort of self sustaining when they track for hundreds of miles.
ORH_wxman
LOL Are you pretty much tossing the towel for the monday storm after snowy Friday? N o, I'm not tossing in the towal on Monday yet...it doesn't look good right now, but I've seen a ton of time where we end up with a sfc redevelopment over LI then tracks to CC and we never get above 32F. Even if its not all/mostly snow, I'd still be weary of a little front ender followed by ice. Most options still on the table at this point...we can probably rule out a KU though. Yeah it seems some on here don't understand that a redeveloper to lock in at the worst a cold rain is most likely. CoastalWx
FWIW the Canadian ensembles have the low going over the outer Cape on the means, so still some disagreement here. I wouldn't lock in (especially way inland) rain just yet.
