Would never believe how hot it was down there today.

Upstate NY, near Cooperstown, at 1600+ feet elevation.........we never took out 75 today.

No humidity, crisp NW breeze.

Delightful upstate summer weather.

It was 83-87 all day, except right on south shore, where it was 85-90 all day. No humidity and low dewpoint, along with a nice NW breeze made it very pleasant outdoors.

I would pay money for every day in summer to be like today.

Tomorrow is 88-91 for city. Which equates to 93-96 for Newark.

Tuesday a little bit hotter by 1-2 degrees. Then front comes thru and brings in seasonable weather for 4-5 days for everyone but Newark, which will be 90 or above every day.

Going into the longer range,it looks like a block will form east of Newfoundland.

While the heat ridge is building over the Central USA,an upper low will get stuck

just off the New England Coast. This may serve to keep the real heat to the west

of the area for a while after the warm up early this week.

Will we be able to hold off the sea breeze for tomorrow and Tuesday?

It's gorgeous out right now though.

I'm on my way to a beautiful north fork beach, so I could care less if city is muggy and Newark is 20 degrees above everyone else.

How long is the drive to get out there? I've never been out that way, or the south fork for that matter. I think their weather is similar because they're both sticking out into the ocean lol.

LOL well I've been out as far as Coram and Stony Brook but never out on the Forks.

There's something even more shocking. I was in Manhattan last weekend and met people who told me they had never been to Long Island and didn't even know exactly where Long Island was. And this wasn't just 1 or 2 people, it was more like a dozen people.

I have been to both Orient Pt and Montauak Pt.Orient Pt is really nice.It can be 98 here in Queens and it can be 20 degrees cooler there.I heard that the Boxing Day blizzard did a lot of damage out there at orient pt.

I've always been intriguing by their climate because they are uniquely situated to do well in exploding Miller B's-- similar to SNE. Maybe too close and influenced by the Ocean too much, but I would think they did exceptionally well in Jan and Feb 1978.
