The pattern for the next couple weeks looks near normal, maybe slightly above to me. The upper ridge should center itself in the south Plains (near where the drought is currently most severe) with extension into the Rockies and eastward to the OH Valley and Southeast. We'll be back and forth with what looks like a conducive regime for convection; NW flow aloft along the rim of the heat ridge. No real cool, autumnal airmass dropping into the region but I don't see any major heat waves either. 85-90 with a good deal of humidity, increasing storm chances, as we head into August.
