90 degrees today for me. Tomorrow Mt Holly says 88 for me but I hope 90 so the next heatwave becomes official on Thursday rather than Saturday

predicted highs the rest of the period

Friday: 94

Saturday: 93

Sunday: 90

Monday: 94

Tuesday: 90

that sounds pretty hot to me but I keep reading on here about no heat on the models

91 here as well today. I dont think we will see widespread 90 (+) readings tomorrow but I agree it would be nice to start a new streak.

The discussion was around the extreme heat which the models seemed to have tempered south of NYC for the 7/29 - 7/31 period. It will still be plenty hot and I suspect the usual spots top out in the upper 90s those days, perhaps a stray 100 (EWR). Beyond there the gfs wants to surge in another round of heat on/around next tue/wed. Overall this is a warm pattern with plenty of near or low 90s with in between bouts of stronger heat through the first few days of August. It looks relatively dry as well.

Yeah 91F high here too, 13th day of the season. Tomorrow is a close call but I'm sure Newark tops 90. Friday should approach 100 for most of NJ.

NAM has a fairly strong overnight squall line for Friday into Saturday. Also has temps for NYC of 96-98 degrees for Friday. Which would mean over 100 at Newark.

0z euro its entire run is pretty warm. Generally average to above average on all days with shots of well above and into the mid 90's.

Today is probably one of only a few days a year that can be considered perfect weather.

Dewpoints are in the low to mid 50's and at 3pm:

LGA: 79

NYC: 82

JFK: 85

EWR: 85

Reminds me of the west coast, LA on a warm day.

Compared to the heat we've been accustomed to recently, no doubt today was much more comfortable than that. However was it cool? I wouldn't say that; temperatures were pretty much near normal for this time of year, which is warm, in the middle 80s. High here of 84.2F (several below forecast actually) with dew points in the lower 60s, great summer day, pleasant humidity, but still plenty hot in the sun for sure.

Nice evening now with temps in the 70s.

Tomorrow looks to provide the risk for severe thunderstorms...with a low pressure passing to the north of our area over New York State and New England on the front. We could see some rather widespread damaging wind reports given the degree of destabilization that is forecast with the expanding and supportive kinematics by mid afternoon.

But let's hope those storms hold there steam if they form when they get to the coast and not fizzle out, can't remember the last time I saw a good thunderstorm this summer
