A-L-E-X
Climo reports has JFK reaching 98 and EWR 99 at between 2-3pm. Also BDR has tied their record high of 94F. Wow, this may be one of the largest temp gaps I've ever seen between JFK and LGA in the summer when JFK is hotter....

I'm really enjoying this-- I wish we had W to NW winds every day all day long when it isn't winter And I hope we get to 100+ when that big heat wave hits here towards the end of July. Stormlover74
Interesting for EWR since it was 97 at 3:00, and down to 95 at 4:00 that they managed to hit 99 in between Note that the time on the CLI is LST. Weathergun
so that's 4 records today BUT IT WASN'T HOT IN DOBBS FERRY!!! I'd hate forecasting temps for Dobbs Ferry in the summer. 4 out of 6 climo stations tied/broke records today. Three of them at the coast. I said say it's very impressive heat for the tri-state area. Wow, weird day with the wind direction switches and variable cloud cover. I hope this isn't our hottest day for the whole summer-- hopefully the best is yet to come
tmagan
Teterboro is posting temps to the half degree? Wow. METAR reports give temperatures to the tenth place holder.
Sundog
What's up with all these high dews being reported? It doesn't feel that humid outside at all. I walked a mile and a half mostly in the sun and I barely broke a sweat. The wind is a lifesaver. This is why I love a good breeze if it's hot. winterwarlock
I work outside all day and I must say it felt particulary hot today I only hit 94 here, the 93 yesterday felt worse, didnt feel as humid today but yes still hot but I was expecting worse. Looks like a real nice sunny dry stretch coming up with possible torch next week

Any breeze but a humid breeze is a big relief. So basically no wind off the water since all it does is make it marginally cooler but ups the dews significantly. Well I wouldn't take this all summer lol. If I could have those couple days we had of near 90 with those dews we had in the 40's and that breeze then I'd be fine. I said say it's very impressive heat for the tri-state area. What can I say? The temperature is the temperature. We only got to 92F here. I was always a bit skeptical of the upper 90s forecast with 850s only around 18-19C. Living outside the majority of the urban heat island, and not measuring on an airport tarmac which is totally inaccurate, you generally need 850s of 22-23C to flirt with 100F. That being said, its up a degree at 6pm and I did say the high could be broken at 7pm, so we shall see, LOL.

The thing is the parking lot at the college has absolutely no shade.

Manny
Running in this temperature, even with a slight breeze, still sucks all the energy out of me. That's why running in the fall is the best thing ever.

Manny
I did 3 miles a day for two months this spring in the late afternoons/evenings and it felt fantastic. I did 11 miles in November, and it felt fantastic too. Running in the spring during the late evening and afternoon is also awesome, but now it's just painful. I'd rather run in 20 degree weather then in 90 degree weather, which I have. So much better. lol

Yep, I hate high humidity too, it makes it feel like you're walking through hot soup lol. Plus it makes the night time sleeping weather really uncomfortable as it tends to keep the temps about 10 degrees higher here.

Cfa
Currently 97....my high was near 101. Today was definitely the hottest day of the year so far (although June 9th felt worse), the breeze didn't help as it was hot too, luckily I love the heat so I wasn't bothered at all.
