Don't worry, they will break it, and watch is happens like at 7pm when the sun is setting.

newark has the least marine influence out of all the nyc stations, and it has hills to the west to aid in downsloping

it should be the warmest

if it were an actual problem with the sensor, the low last night wouldn't have matched other locations ;)

I am getting a sea breeze here in Long Beach now with the temperature down to 90 degrees from 96 a little while ago.

I'm up to 94 now, my high for the day so far.

A strong NW to WNW wind gusting to 21 mph here.

Wow, and we were worried about Newark lol. K either my equipment was malfunctioning or the clouds somehow had more of an affect here even though I'm less than four miles from the airport lol. So I guess the temp is still going up there? That was a rather steep rise between 251 and 311 lol.... do the temps go up quickly just before the sea breeze hits? Sort of like what sometimes happens just in advance of cold fronts?

the station with a hundreds of miles of land to it's west is the hottest station with west winds and 20 c 850s. I'm gonna have to dust off my textbooks to figure this one out.

impressed with the heat on the island. pretty classic winds for big heat. clouds are annoying but we are still roasting..upper 90s.

Yeah, Im sure you saw my cloud rant from earlier lol-- are they a product of the high dew points, John? Because if it wasn't for them we would have cleared 100 today. Maybe Ma Nature is saving that for the really big heatwave at the end of the month ;) Thoughts?

IF we stay dry like this, I think we will pull it off. A dry ground is key.

Heat was a bust here today in Westchester, no can do on the forecast high of 97F from NWS. Got up to 92.4F, toasty day but nothing unusual for July.

FEW

90.9/73

The next thing we need to look at is if big heat at the shore may lead to a winter with more frequent coastal snowstorms :P

Yeah not too impressive down here either. Currently 91.2, high was 91.5, while fcst was for 95-96. Low 90s aren't that big of a deal i nmid july.
