MJO812
When using a small ac you're basically using a few cents more power than a fan. You think the fan runs on love? My dad hates when I always use the a.c.
ag3
My dad hates when I always use the a.c. Give him $30 for the month. Small bedroom air conditions use no energy.

Stormlover74
A cool 91 at EWR at noon, same as yesterday. Maybe anything above 97 is getting out of reach?

Sundog
Give him $30 for the month. Small bedroom air conditions use no energy. 30 dollars? 10 bucks should cover it even if it was working 24 hours a day and it's still too much.
A-L-E-X
All the offshore buoys have switched from SSW to now westerly winds. JFK and south shore will roast; I'm frustrated where did these DAMN CLOUDS come from! If it's not the sea breeze it's these damn clouds that weren't supposed to be here! I hit 90 with ease before 11 and it's barely climbed since then because of these clouds!
A-L-E-X
Not always. 1999. Mega Nina. That said I wont go for a great winter unless we get 30 90 degree days and at least 1 100 degree day. This is just run of the mill heat.
A-L-E-X
Long beach and Howard Beach are currently the hot spots on LI...incredible. It's the way it should be
A-L-E-X
yea, rare day in the summer where the north shore is cooler than the south shore. http://www.wundergro...bertson%2c%20NY It was also like this last summer-- you need a really strong high pressure to your southwest to keep the sea breeze at bay. I'm hoping this becomes the norm in the new solar regime.

A-L-E-X
92/70, hard to get much warmer which such a high dew. HI of 98 Yeah, and these dumb clouds which are a result of the high dew points will cap us in the low 90s. This is the other reason I HATE high dew points. A-L-E-X
On a strong WNW wind the sky would have been the limit for temps today were it not for the dew point and the clouds.
Isotherm
Still haven't reached 90, 87.6F right now. Fcst high of 95 looks unreachable at this point. Winds are NWLY but dew points in the low 70s, preventing much quick warming.

Allsnow
Also like yesterday, the 6z gfs has the heat as well. Lets see if its subsequent runs maintain it today, same for the ecm. Suspect we do see another surge of heat on/around the 19th, perhaps more sustained. 12z remains the same.....big torch

A-L-E-X
94 at JFK at 2pm. 94 degrees here in Long Beach right now. Wow, Im still at 92 but the temps are rising quickly when the sun is out (it's like 50% cloudy right now and that 50% just happens to be blocking the sun ugh!) A-L-E-X
94.5 / 68 It sucks because if the DP was like 10 degrees lower we would have cleared 100 today with this strong WNW wind. Why is it so humid with a WNW wind? Isn't that supposed to be a drying downsloping wind? Also, where did these damn clouds come from on a supposedly dry wind lol.
