griteater
Got in a heavy band that cooled the column - went from steady sleet, to a sleet / snow mix, to mostly snow, then back to sleet. For about 5 minutes, it was as big a flakes as I've ever seen (silver dollar size). Very light dusting. Temps in upper 30's.
WidreMann
For a few minutes I was getting what looked to be partially melted and refrozen snowflakes. It wasn't sleet, but it did make noise when hitting the ground (which made me fear that it was sleeting). Now we are getting a solid light snow. WeatherNC
WWA advisories now up for Pitt Co lets hope for once a storm bust in our favor and someone gets a surprise 2-3" outta this. Not sure I understand this one, slippery spots on bridges, but little to no accumulation. All it takes is a heavier band to put down a quick inch, seems to have backed off from the overnight and morning disco, and in coordination with Big Brother pulls the trigger. At-least they did not wait till there is 1" on the ground to hoist the WWA, but wording does not fit the criteria imo... cmglockson
Woke up this afternoon at about 12:30 in GSO to find it snowing outside... the ground was completely uncovered though... I jumped in the shower and by the time I had gotten back out it had accumulated quite a bit. Just drove back to Burlington and I have to say it was snowing pretty hard for most of the way... I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up with a few inches from this. I can't fathom how we would end up with less than 2 at this point. Snowing hard in Burlington currently.
