96.5 @ 2:00. Some high, thin clouds are passing over head. Hopefully it will be just enough to keep me from reaching 100 today.

My AC was finally fixed yesterday. I say this with full understanding that people lose their homes and lives to weather events, such as hurricanes, tornados, floods, etc. But this past week may have been the most miserable week weather wise I've ever experienced. I hope I don't have to repeat it any time soon.

103 here. Took a while to get there with the thin cloud layer. Sun is out again

Yeah, after alot of clouds around here this morning, I didn't know if it would make it to a 100 and here I am now with mostly sunny skies and a temp. of 100.3

Atleast the humidity is down some and there is a good breeze.

My thermometer is reading 102 - could this be right? It seems to be over Parsley's obs. I'm in the Collegeville/Trappe area. The thermometer is under s shaded umbrella, but I still wonder if there was too much sun effect.

I'm slightly over 100 now, and the MesoWest Surface obs. in Collegeville are showing....

101, 102 and 104 in the 3 Collegeville sites. So your 102 is right, or atleast close :)

Thanks, Parsley! It definitely is in line, then.

No problem. Its great having those few other obs. close by to compare our numbers with. The "104" reading on that map is a bit high, and that ob. site has been running high the past few days but the one next to Trappe, has been more in line with my numbers and reality.

Heat is fun lol-- JFK hit 102 today without any sun-- who knows how hot it would have been with sunshine!

Statement as of 2:29 PM EDT on July 23, 2011

... Record high temperature set at Kennedy NY...

a record high temperature of 102 degrees was set at Kennedy NY today.

This breaks the old record of 100 set in 1972.

101.2 here. Couldn't imagine being down at the shore today. Sand must be blistering hot!

My dad brought his infrared thermometer to the beach and the temperature of the sand was anywhere between 115-130 degrees. And Yes it is quite unpleasant on the beach if you are not in the water.

Not sure if this is going to be right or what not but the ruc wants to bring in storms around 10-12 tonight..

20z HRRR has those storms down in York County expanding north a bit and then weakening as they hit Philly around 8pm

then it also has a new round of storms popping up in central DE and moving across the bay around 10pm, staying generally south of the ACE though
