It's 71/69 out here west of ALB in the hills now. At least we tend to radiate down to the muggy dew point here. ALB is a bit of a heat island despite it's modest size.

Yeah...damn muggy...just stepped outside a few minutes ago...reminds me of the couple summers I spent in NC. Got the a/c blasting, so can't say I mind one bit.

82/69 at ALB now.

ALB is at 81/70 now as of midnight...the SSW winds are keeping temperatures from cooling.

Even down here near the coast, it's too late in the season for strong south winds to cool us down much. Water temperatures are in the 70s at this point....HPN (White Plains) has a south wind off the water but is stuck at 79/70. Also, the flow is turning increasingly SW, with SW winds already being reported at Newark, and that means we'll cook even more. One of the worst nights I've experienced although Summer 2006 had some particularly sultry evenings with temperatures staying in the 80s. I remember chilling out on a friend's roof having a beer one night at 4am, with his thermometer still reading 82F.

I am just so glad I have A/C in the bedroom...you appreciate it so much more when the rest of the house isn't air-conditioned, just an incredible change coming in here. It's probably close to 90F in the hall outside my room, but only 71F in here.

We have decoupled pretty good here, but a very muggy 71F...

Back in July 2005 it was 80F here once around midnight with a strong sw wind ahead of a cold front. That's the only time I saw it near 80 at midnight here.

I don't check the site everyday this time of year...have we permanently lost one of our few CT Shoreline posters? Too bad if this is so and you're not moving back to Clinton because even at the height of the winter we only have around 7 to 8 posters who regularly post who live on the South Coast of New England. And I always knew if it was sleeting in your area the pingers weren't too far behind for me.

Tonight must be difficult at Pete's non a/c house. :devilsmiley:

I'm in a nice 74F a/c cooled house.

Down to 75 muggy degrees outside - after a high of 85.8F.

72/70 here a little after 5AM, sleeping was no problem though I did put the fan on for the first time this summer. After working in the direct sun all day the evening air seemed cool. No a/c required.

I definitely needed the window fan last night. The S wind kept the temp mixed around 75F most of the night. It's finally beginning to radiate a bit now and it has dropped to 72.3F. I doubt my 70+ low survives between now and 5z tomorrow night.

With just a bit of moving air it's not a problem. Our house is shaded by ancient maples so it doesn't get very warm inside. I'll be happy when the front comes through though. The bigger problem is at work. I'm just starting another house so we're framing inside a new foundation. The temp probably gets up around 100 with all the stone and cement. There is no escaping the sun except when a beautiful cloud floats by. Love the clouds,

Looks like we should get a lot of sun to start today thanks to that MCS diving due south over WV/VA. Looks like the debris clouds we had already did their dirty work of keeping overnight mins up and are clearing out of the region now. Thank goodness we start changing the airmass and drop those dews tomorrow.

Yep...leaving CT for good...lost my job as my side of the company got sold off...and my new job brings me to Albany. There's a few things I'll miss about the shoreline...but being on of the first in CT to mix during the winter won't be one of them. Unfortunately, will still have some CT baggage until we can get our house sold.

It go down to an even 70F out here 23 miles west of ALB... I just looked at the obs to our west and nw across the state and dew points are still uniformly in the 66-70 range so any relief is not right around the corner yet.

Good luck in Albany! I enjoyed reading your New England input on here and at Eastern

I bottomed out at a sultry 75. Wouldn't be summer without a few nights like that.

Thanks...I'm surprised anyone noticed...I'm typically pretty quiet outside of nowcast situations. laugh.gif
