well i've been in the islands and seen the dewpoint in the 82-84 range...so it's not really the dew point alone that amazes me as much as the combo of temp/dewpoint going on right now...in the islands it's brutal but the air temp is "only" like 91 or 92. there's probably some small nooks/crannies of some of those caribbean islands that get very hot and humid but in general, temps max out in the lower 90s down there.

seeing the temperature crest 100F with a dewpoint north of 80F is incredible.

Evapo-transpiration FTL.

I found it interesting that TOP was like 102/79 while ICT was 110/56...or something like that. They aren't too far away. Probably a combo of better moisture both from soils and source region near the gulf.

yeah also wonder if all the flooding from the river is just adding to that.

GFS looks like it wants to push some sort of MCS through here tonight

hmmm, if that happens i have a feeling left over cloud cover would dampen the prospects of severe weather on tuesday...however, with a dual frontal passage the prospects weren't all the great for tues anyway...hell, bring on the severe tonight then!

Yeah saw that. We'll have to see what can pop upstream to the wnw, later on. There is a weak s/w that does come through.

On a side note...90 here now. I see dews are in the low 70s down your way.

i haven't looked that closely at the GFS but it's almost as if the stuff tonight is associated with some kind of pre-frontal trough...but i'm not sure. i have to look more closely.

strange PVC ob right now.

I was just looking at that. Weird.

Poor ACK though. People go to vacation there and everytime the weather warms up...they fog in. Maybe in other parts of the Island it's a little more sct out, but that sucks. Much better to go there in September.

It seems like some of our best severe days come when we get two rounds with one in the morning. Not saying this will happen but...I wouldn't think early morning convection would ruin too much if we can get the sun out right away after.

yeah that's a rough place to be out there. nice fall weather but otherwise, you really need ideal wind direction and low humidity to avoid haze/fog

I have to forecast there, and last night I had a tempo condition for a little fog...but I honestly thought it would hold off until the higher dews come in by evening. Nobody else had it, but I should have hit it harder. What a b*tch of a place to forecast.

we never effeciently clear out...always left over debris...however, this pre-frontal push may be the best shot at severe...i don't think the actual fropa (in this scenario) would give me much (SNE coastal plain)

I wonder what kind of looks will happen when Kevin order's a Zima in a glass with lots of ice.

he'll grab his water and his zima and probably sneak over to the GAP or Ambercrombie for some shopping.

maybe their surprise trip is a duck boat tour? maybe all the ADP employees will have to quack all over the city.
