Jim Martin
Getting reports of damage and power lines down in McComb in NW Hancock County (NW of Findlay). Also, a downburst was reported here in this hour in Findlay proper, with estimated winds of 65mph.
nwohweather
Warning up for Wood and Lucas County talk about winds in excess of 75 mph possible and my radar confirms that. I'm shocked that no television stations have broken in yet

nwohweather
Wow line in NW OH now moving east at 70 mph...it's sped up about 10 mph. Looks like it's time to batten down the hatches...don't have a super clear view of it on Grlevel tho

Hoosier
Starting to wonder about how much redevelopment there will be later and when/where it will occur. Possible that the focus may be forced farther south into central IL/IN.
kab2791
I wouldn't exactly call it a shelf cloud, but something like it at the leading edge was a beautiful sight. Had some estimated gusts of 30mph, and only a few strikes of lightning.

Powerball
Winds here had to be stronger than 30 MPH for the power to flicker. 45 MPH sounds about right, as Metro Airport measured a 47 MPH wind gust.
hm8
Pretty nice event so far (though I didn't get much exciting here) Also a nice time to see the difference with the filtered reports:
AppsRunner
Beast of a storm today. I was 7 miles South of Findlay this morning. It thundered for a good hour before anything happened here. Haven't seen the sky so dark this year. Estimated 60mph winds with several moderate sized branches down. Apparently BG also got hit but I haven't been around town yet. SEMIweather
The storm itself wasn't overly impressive, but the shelf cloud with the second line was incredible (taken around 12:15 p.m.).

Stebo
Looks like that line stayed severe after I fell asleep, especially for the city south. The rain was needed for everyone thankfully. to rain.
AppsRunner
So I just heard a local met talking about cirrus clouds keeping this from being a big severe storm event. I have two questions: 1.) How was this not a big event? Several counties had widespread damage in the area including a microburst in Findlay 2.) What cirrus clouds is he talking about? All I saw on the satellite shot a standard MCS

All I saw on the satellite shot a standard MCS It could have been worse if it wasn't for the clouds overhead during peak heating, which is basically true. The clouds that tend to be associated with MCS are cirrus clouds (rather cirrostratus clouds).

Jonbo
Crazy to think this all began just northeast of me. I was awakened to some wind/rain but nowhere near as insane as those reports. This wording from DMX didn't really surprise me with those wind estimates further northeast. * DISCUSSION/DAMAGE: THIS WIND EVENT HAS BEEN THE MOST WIDESPREAD AND DAMAGING ONE TO AFFECT CENTRAL AND EAST CENTRAL IOWA SINCE 1998. AGAIN...NO TORNADOES WERE INDICATED. THE DAMAGE WAS DUE TO STRAIGHT LINE WINDS FROM A DERECHO. HAVING SAID THAT...THE STRONGEST WINDS DURING THIS EVENT WERE SIMILAR TO THOSE FOUND IN AN EF1 TORNADO. THE WIND DAMAGE FROM THIS EVENT WAS MORE WIDESPREAD THAN THE DAMAGE A TORNADO HOWEVER. EXAMPLES OF THE NOTABLE WIND SPEEDS FOLLOW AND HAVE BEEN ESTIMATED FROM OBSERVED DAMAGE. NEAR HUXLEY...96 MPH. MAXWELL...94 MPH. NEAR MARSHALLTOWN...70 TO 90 MPH. JUST EAST OF GARWIN...105 MPH. BETWEEN GARWIN AND UNION GROVE STATE PARK...85 TO 97 MPH. JUST SOUTH OF TRAER...100 MPH. JUST SOUTH AND SOUTHWEST OF DYSART...105 TO 110 MPH. SOUTH OF DYSART...80 TO 100 MPH. Also, a local station (WHO-TV 13) had their "Mega Doppler Radar" knocked down up north of DSM. Near Alleman, Channel 13's Mega Doppler Radar landed in a neighbor's yard. Karen Hildreth says, "My husband looked out the window and he said, 'You know what?' He could see the doppler was gone, and then looked out the front window and said, 'My goodness, it's in the old blue spruce trees." http://www.whotv.com...,0,138997.story
