BethesdaWX
here's the change in daily temp norms at dc with rounded figures since that's all that's on lwx: UHI is definitely having an impact on the night-time readings it seems. Shouldn't they adjust for that?
wxmeddler
UHI is definitely having an impact on the night-time readings it seems. Shouldn't they adjust for that? Nope. Its the new climatology of the station environment in which its sampling. If you were to compensate for it, the nightly temperature would be on average 2 degrees above normal every night. Wouldn't correcting those solve the problem in the first place and give accurate lows?
