SeNJWx
This was the view from Central New Jersey, bright streak, then a flare, continued on across the sky before disappearing- and reappearing one more time.

Nice picture. It's pretty neat how much lower in your sky it is compared to down this way.
Ian
I got a few others with a small streak, but this is the best -- two images stacked.
The Dude
Nice shot of the Capitol! You might want to clean up those dust specs on the upper left.

stormitecture
ISS pass: http://twitpic.com/5iv2wx Rocket Launch (it was about 10% further north than I expect...so I had to adjust....TWICE). (from 131 miles, measured). http://twitpic.com/5ivhuf I did my homework, and even been out to Wallops. I still messed up. So don't feel bad Ian. Rockets this large go maybe once or twice a year. One thing to keep in mind is that they often get rescheduled. I spent two days driving back and fourth a while back to cover one of these launches. 4.5 hr drive each way and both days got canceled. Only thing I got is some NASA media points (it's not called that) and some storm pictures I got on the way out the second day. Ian...next attempt I try to get to go out...I'll try to remember to give you a heads up, maybe we'll car pool together. Since your basically media too (via WP) you should be able to get media access no prob.
SeNJWx
Nice picture. It's pretty neat how much lower in your sky it is compared to down this way. Thanks! Looks like its about 170 miles from Wallops where I took the pic. Just finished stitching a second picture, I'll post that shortly.

Ian
This was when I first saw it. After seeing the other shots and looking at my own it's pretty clear I chose about the worst spot I could have logically chosen, with it coming up right behind the dome. Oh well. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6047/5886943950_762e129741_z.jpg
earthlight
It was a sick view, even from here. Also, the ISS passing directly overhead was extremely impressive. Cool night.

Scuddz
Pretty cool here in Columbia! Very vivid orange fire-ish ball while it was low on horizon. Saw the different stages go off and could see some stuff falling off of the rocket. Got up to a high point in the sky, hovered there for 30 seconds before disappearing. Very much worth the wait! where did u watch from, I was up by the tennis center.
Bob Chill
Even with the delay it was pretty worthy. Let the 6 year olds stay up late. Watched the blastoff on the PC and quickly ran up the street for a semi clear view. My boy was fascinated and now wants to be an astronaut.
