cdmwx
Looking at the sea breeze fronts in SNE via BOX, I randomly clicked the 2.5° tilt and noted a line of returns that has moved from SE to NW stretching from the Atlantic east of Boston to NW Middlesex County. Just wondering what these could be? These images are from a few scans ago, the line has lifted into NH now:
CoastalWx
I see them as well..only going from nw-se on the 2.5 degree tilt. It might be chaff, but I'm not sure about that. Looks odd.
cdmwx
Oops, yes I was looking at it in reverse, it's moving from NW to SE, now over NE Plymouth County. A few other notes: 1.5° Base Vel. showed this as W-E line when it was in S NH, picking it up at that tilt at about 11k ft. Once it moved closer to Boston and to its present location, now at about 5000ft it looks like 3 separate streaks tilted NW to SE. At 2.5° it is one distinct line going from Waltham to east of Marshfield. At 3.5° the line is somewhat curved in the middle. It is still visible on velocity up to the max 4.5° which is about 14kft. Also just noticed another smaller streak like this that travelled from the Quabbin 2hrs ago SE to now around Providence.
