Yes, this woke me up... Quite a prolonged set of high winds... I was wondering what was going on because there wasn't any thunder/lightning until the winds subsided. Quite impressive winds though. Same here, I was trying to figure out what was going on since the winds weren't supposed to pick up until later today.
TJay
Got woken up at around 3:30 by the alert radio going off for a severe watch. I was just falling back to sleep and it went off again in ten minutes with a warning (not bad for November!) so I stayed up to watch. Very cool squall line, I started hearing the wind in the distance about 10 minutes before the line hit. Impressive winds came in when the line hit, lasted about 10 minutes. The weather station at OCESC had 48mph gust as the squall line came thru.

Radders
Heavy frost this morning... 28F for the low. Still not sure what to make of the up and coming pattern.. Definitely looks cold, but not mega cold. The period after thanksgiving still looks quite interesting in terms of an overrunning event or clipper type system if the shortwaves are there. TJay
I am looking forward to seeing the 12z runs today. The GFS has been pretty consistant showing cold coming in next Thursday. even the euro is swinging that way now.
Radders
LOL at the 12Z Euro. Very progressive. Quick, but intense cold short after thanksgiving, but bone dry, then quickly moderating as we go into the week of the 29th.. Definitely not good to see, but that is 10 days out.. Wish I had access to the ensembles, the operational run is just a tease!
TJay
GFS still shows a cool down late next week, a few days colder then the rest and keeps our area north of the 850 line for about the entire run for what its worth.
